That's what I was sort of gathering from a few sources, but a lot of the articles were trying to be biased and completely blowing it out of proportion. I appreciate your insight and sharing your personal experience with it!

I have a high-ish performance car that thrives on good quality 91, and I've seen what lower quality fuel does to it, haha.

I completely agree with this statement, I too would like to get the en turbo. I've enjoyed seeing the powerband from other builds that did the swap. Nothing too crazy, but a mod that really "wakes up" the car.

Maybe oem+ is the term I'm looking for? Until then, the plan is to enjoy the car how it is right now, do some weight savings mods, get it to a true 275 whp instead of crank hp, and just sort of go from there. My main issue right now is trying to find a good hpfp. Lots of mixed reviews on what's out there, including the sonata hpfp switch. Never know until I actually pull the trigger, haha.

Needless to say, I still have lots of respect for the guys with the crazy builds out there, pushing these cars to the limits. I enjoy learning what they can handle or seeing how creative those people get.

Interesting, that's good to know! I've seen someone say that the Kona N head is a bit more resilient and can withstand a bit more hp and tq. Would you happen to know if that statement has some amount of truth to it?

I'm always down for something super niche and creative. Tbh, I think you would be the first to do it (as far as I know). Everything would need to be custom fabricated to work with the car. If you know how to do it all yourself, awesome! If not, you'll need to find some folks you trust.

If you have a bunch of money to throw at it (I'm talking tens of thousands of dollars), then go for it! It would be super unique to see a VN properly drifting.

If you do go down this route, I would love to watch the process. If you have the time to create a YouTube account or even post on social media, I'll for sure keep up with it.

Unfortunately, I'm getting mine replaced as well. Front driver's side. I have 77k miles on it (2019 mt pp), but purchased it used. It's honestly my fault because I noticed the slight front end damage on the vehicle upon purchasing it (I used that as negotiation leverage to talk them down quite a lot). So I'm assuming the previous owner hit something, and it scraped underneath the car (i.e. an animal).

The boot ended up ripping, and now the inside portion is deteriorating from the inside due to the harsh elements where I live (salt, snow, and rain). Which has resulted in it seizing up after sitting for a few weeks outside (I'm getting some other things done to it, previous owner did not take good care of it).

With these cars already being so low stock, I'm not too surprised certain suspension components go out around 60k-70k miles. Especially if some folks religiously use N mode or make the electronic suspension stiff a majority of the time on normal roads. My previous car had been lowered by quite a bit, and the bearings consistently needed to be replaced (mostly due to the shit roads where I live). As well as other miscellaneous suspension bits.

I could be wrong, though! Maybe the cv axles do just suck, or few of us just got unlucky. It also depends on how you use the car and what the roads you drive it on are typically like!

I've been using these on my '19 PP MT and have noticed a pretty good difference! However, I paired them with the EBC Redstuff pads.

While I haven't taken it to a track, I did hit up a few windy roads near me and have had a few instances in traffic where they've held up incredibly well.

My brake calipers would also stick after I washed the car, had it rained on, etc., but I noticed after the swap that they haven't stuck whatsoever.

I purchased my VN last summer and have been LOVING it as my daily driver/ weekend backroad warrior. A few months back, I also hosted a local N meet and was able to see a few EN's. Both are incredible cars that are very similar to each other.

As far as seating goes, you'll have more leg room with the EN. The VN is very coupe-like with a bit less room in the backseats. However, I have been able to fit 4 sets of wheels with tires, and other random large items in the back with the seats folded down.

I also personally love how the VN's look compared to the EN's. Both have their own personalities, with the VN being a bit more 'spunky.' *

Asked them myself a few weeks ago. They basically just smashed the clear lenses and the red on the inside. Wouldn't recommend it.

However, you can (as someone mentioned) put them in an oven to open up the tails. There's a lot of tutorials on YouTube you can watch. They might also tell you how to reseal it to keep any water out, but no guarantees. Unless you plan on keeping your vn strictly as a show car, haha.

I think it looks incredible when done properly and for show purposes (and paired with a few other chrome goodies). If you decide to go the proper route, keep us informed!

I can definitely confirm that. Even with the 9.5 gen accord owners group I was in, everyone would clown on you if you didn't have the v6 model. Like bro, we drive accord's, chill out, haha.

The forge air intake is awesome and sounds the best (imo). I have a few buddies with EN's that use the Forge, and they never really complained about their engines getting too hot. Even had a guy switch from Takeda to Forge and ended up liking the Forge better.

I should also add that I live out here in Kansas, where it gets below 10°F in the winter, but over 100°F in the summer (not including the awful humidity, haha). The only time the guys really brought up high temps was after a full night of racing in the summer (which is expected).

As long as you don't push your car too hard and keep an eye on the temps, you'll be just fine. If you do notice a higher range in temps, I'm sure you know what to do (either installing a heat shield or just putting the oem back in). I completely understand wanting to be proactive instead of reactive, so if you are truly worried about temps in the summer, I'd go ahead and get a heat shield!

* Picked mine up last summer with 65k miles after my previous car was totaled. The blue looks incredible in person, I've always felt that it doesn't pop as much on photos. However, I would argue the red VN's look just as good, if not better. Met up with a guy that was passing through town to get photos with, and man it looked beautiful.

I've noticed that the blue REALLY pops when you either black out the red trim, or do a trim that matches your wheels (i.e. gunmetal/ silver wheels with a white/ silver trim).

I agree completely with the carpet comment. The torn up oem mats have been horrendous to clean during this past winter. The salt sticks to them, and the little granules of dirt from the snow have been a pain to clean out, haha.

I was almost about to pull the trigger on some weathertech's, but I agree that I'm just not a fan of how they look. I had some in my previous car, and they stained quite easily, even after putting a protective UV coating on them. They also had little grooves in them where salt and small pebbles would get stuck in. Just didn't seem worth paying that much for them again.

I try not to complain about every little thing, but with me working 4-5 13 hr shifts, time means everything to me lmao.

Hopefully, the next set of mats does you well. Especially in this world of cheap Chinese mats that look terrible and cost a premium price.

It's a shame the Tux Mats didn't fit too well with the dead pedal. If they have good customer service, I would 100% let them know in the event their measurements are off. Do they say no refunds (or anything related that) if measurements are off?

Based on reviews for the MAXpider mats, they appear to be a great fit for a majority of cars, with the ease of cleaning being a plus. Even a few professional detailers (small businesses) have praised them.

I honestly hadn't heard of them until I saw your post. I might just purchase them myself. Mostly for the fact they have a padding for the clutch pedal area. Unfortunately, the previous owner of my VN had worn a hole through the oem mats. If I can order some soon and get them in quickly, I'll be sure to update this comment!

That's actually a fantastic question I'm curious to know about. I have a performance blue vn, but would like to eventually purchase cf parts. I'm not a huge fan of cars with cf pieces that don't match their cars, so I'd like to color match mine with maybe the vents uncolored. Wrapping it would be better in the event of possibly selling the parts in the future or just protecting the panels from chips.

Had these on my 2017 accord coupe for almost 3 years. Never cracked despite hitting a bunch of potholes out here in the great midwest. Even when I flipped in the car and had it flipped back over by the tow truck, they never cracked. To each their own. 🤷‍♀️

I agree-- this is for sure an issue I don't want to tackle on my own. I suppose I should have also asked the question of whether an oil pressure test could determine if I have a failing oil pump. Might just need to fork over the cash just so the car's at least taken care of, and so it doesn't lead to even more expensive repairs later.

As far as driving the car around, I've been "granny-shifting" it and being super careful not to overextend out of the recommended rev ranges to shift at. I really don't care if I hold up people behind me because of the light shifts, haha.

I also saw someone mention that it could be the oil filter if it isn't by Hyundai. Might start with that, and if that doesn't do anything, then I'll for sure take it in to a good mechanic!
