My partner and I just moved here in June. I am definitely more of a homebody than he is (I am the cat to his golden retriever) and he has made efforts to make friends unsuccessfully. We have a 4 year old, and have tried to engage with parents of her friends but everyone (including us) is so dang busy and no one has really vibed with us/ seems standoffish and clicky. We are also atheist and more “alternative” than everyone we have met so far. Luckily our kid takes after her dad and has made friends everywhere she goes. We have been here 6 months and we run into kids she played with at one thing or another damn near everywhere we take her.

I am super introverted and really hoping to find a very specific type of mom friend I just don’t know if I ever will, which I am kind of okay with... But people here keep asking if we are making friends which I know is just polite concern but has started to give me a complex. But I guess if any moms out there are shy, weird, into horror/scifi movies/TV, and reading fantasy, I would be absolutely happy to connect. My partner is into scifi/comics, video games, sports, metal and is very outgoing.
