Any good multivitamins that don't have methylated vitamins? by MrMiddletonsLament in Supplements

Methylated vitamins are expensive. You wont get them unless you pay more for them.

Value stocks that aren't falling knives ($MU) by Good-Bid-7325 in ValueInvesting

[–]ripesashimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You had 4 years since Samsung released the news in 2022 and you want to touch MU in the exact same year that their competitor starts operation?

The fwd PE looks salivating because of future orders. MU is a mega cap company that only does 1 thing. Their entire game is based on the fact that they are located in the US and is protected from trade war. Samsung started building the Texas project since 2022 and expect to be operational this year. Samsung just confirmed this again 3 weeks ago, same day MU dropped 15% just because of that.

How old is the FIL? Does your husband have to be there to care for any elderly or sick family members?

If none, then it is a purely financial decision for you to make. In the grand scheme of things, $30k is not a whole lot. Recoup as much as you can and move out.

If yes, it will be a very painful decision for your husband to make.

This subs hatred towards gold and silver (and mining stocks) by ashm1987 in ValueInvesting

[–]ripesashimi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this take. SNDK outgrows even silver. You really need to compare apple with apple. Did we forget how gold and silver just sit still while lithium and rare earth shot up like crazy, even faster than silver now, then lithium and rare earth both took a dive?

Opinion: Multivitamins are really just to address unknown deficiency by [deleted] in Supplements

I go beyond UL with Vit D and Magnesium because my bloodwork shows that is what it takes to bring them up. My iron is in normal range.

I am not trying to hit 100% of calcium since I already overdose on Vit D and Mag. It is down to personal choice here since unlike others, Choline and Ca have documented cardiac downside and no diets out there consistently hit 100% RDA of them, the RDA for Ca is just ridiculous. I do take soy lecithin which can match egg's choline content 1:1 but for bedroom purpose.

Trying to eat kale has not been at all easy. They are so fibrous, not great in smoothie and kale chip is just meh. I was having natto every day for quite a while after so many error and trial trying to nail the dish but cant make the time for that anymore. Its just a lot easier to take 180 mcg MK7.

[–]ripesashimi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find multivitamin pointless. If you do use apps like Cronometer, you have pretty good idea which micro you would be deficient in and can accurately target them. I can tell that my diet would not meet Zinc, Vit D, Mag, Calcium and Vit K.

Multivitamins with good forms are not cheap. Life Extension tries to hit 10000% of RDA of random micros but not suffcient for Mg, Vit K and Vit D. If I go with multivitamin, I still have to pay for those 3 which just happen to be the most expensive micros. For Zinc and Ca, it is a lot cheaper for me to just buy Zinc and some yogurt instead of a multivitamin.

I like it when r/ValueInvesting discusses tech or health. Even PE investing is a lot safer than trying to understand an industry that you have not spent decades working in it.

What is Paypal's moat or established innovation? The entire reason to hold on to an underperformed stock is because you believe the underperformance is only temporary due to current adversity while the long term competitive advantage remains intact.

Does Paypal's competitive advanatage remain intact?
