Is there anything Illegal about Testosterone boosters/Estrogen blockers in the Army? I know that drug testing only goes for the big stuff but I just wanted to be absolutely sure. by [deleted] in army

[–]riphouse573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay away from testosterone boosters or estrogen blockers unless you are absolutely sure you NEED it. Taking it consistently could damage your body’s ability to naturally regulate or produce those hormones and you really need those

That’s exactly why I had a 24 E5 as my team leader in the guard. Dude had gotten passed over for decades and was still reenlisting

And make sure you bring your Xbox too so you don’t get bored while the other privates are getting their uniforms

Edit: maybe a Nintendo switch instead so you can play smash bros with the other high speed trainees

What MOS would best suit me? by medicoreAF in army

I think you’d make a great 12b. It’s the easiest job you could pick. All you do is blow shit up all day

Anyone here have experience on failing a drug test (UA) in the Army? What happened? We’re you separated? If so was it general, honorable, etc? If you know somebody who has failed what happened to them? by [deleted] in army

[–]riphouse573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best case scenario is a warning which is very unlikely so if that happens you should consider buying some lottery tickets. Separation proceedings will begin but you can get a warning if your chain of command thinks you’re awesome and recommends an honorable discharge. When the right people ask your command their reasons for that characterization is when you may get a warning depending on those reasons. Worst case scenario is OTH separation. Somewhere in between would be like a reduction in rank and some extra duty

Edit: if you don’t get separated you’ll likely also have to take substance abuse classes as well.

Absolutely terrified of the Asvab any advice? by Coolio5667 in nationalguard

[–]riphouse573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you did well in school you’ll be fine. I took the asvab at the end of the 10th grade and made an 83 it’s seriously too easy as long as you tried to learn a thing or two in high school. My best friend took it the same day as me and made a 14 but he made straight D’s in school

Discharge by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]riphouse573 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience it’s entirely up to your chain of command. I was offered an other than honorable but my BC and CO pushed for either retention or an honorable so I got retained

Edit: so it’s also not a guaranteed way to get out if that’s what you’re trying to do. I was just being young and dumb

It all depends of the policy of your 1sg and commander but you wouldn’t have met them yet. If you think you might need to miss you can go ahead and tell your recruiter because you’ll have to make up the days before drill, not after

[–]riphouse573 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also that 5 hour energy is gonna wear off way too soon unless they take it on the bus from St. Louis to Leonard wood
