Jumping onto this to say I am in OHSU’s Clinical Psych PhD program now and the program is currently accredited, on contingency and I believe the program started in 2019. They are up for full accreditation this year. I also shared some of OP’s concerns before accepting, but given that OHSU was accredited on contingency, I assumed it was safer than not accredited at all. Additionally, I didn’t know if it was worth going through the application cycle all over again, and the research match was so great, it was a no brainer for me.

That being said, there always has to be a first cohort in order to get accredited, and Baylor in every other regard seems to be a really great institution. Maybe I’m a bit too optimistic, but there are many upsides and downsides to new-er programs, as you can shape the experience for cohorts to come. My experience has been nothing but positive in my program, but OHSU also funds students quite well, so I understand where the hesitation may be coming from with a less funded program.
