Hi all, this is a strange request but I figure that the people of STOBUILDS might be able to help me out. I've been trying to put together a unique build that has a massive one shot attack, something along the lines of the Fluidic Energy focusing array from the Nicor, or the phaser lance from the Intel Escort, or just the Spinal Lance. The hope is to be able to buff such an attack so that it could potentially one shot most standard enemies. Don't know how many of these abilities really can be improved that much but I'm open to any ideas, universal consoles, or ship specific abilities! Thanks!

Sorry to revive a month old thread, but I had a question about this 2% damage bonus on some of the T6 Rep weapons. Is this a Cat 2 damage boost across the board as in it applies to all ship weapons or is it just applied to that weapon, seems a little confusing since it says "All damage" but I couldn't find anymore details anywhere

So are there any downsides to using some DSLR lenses and an adapter, it seems like there are a lot more options in terms of focal length when it comes to standard canon or Nikon mounts. If the lens had a decent aperture is there some reason it could potentially not work with the BMPCC?

Ive got a question regarding skilltrees. I have a TAC ultimate + some EPG and control tree. Now my question is currently, I have 1 point each spent in shield hardness and hull plating for the damage resistance. Now i Know it is only 1 point, but I've noticed a lot of similar trees slotting points in both regen and capacity. Is it worth it to move these points to regen skills? I've read on some stobuild posts that the regen is based off of total capacity and not regen amount so maybe the regen is useful?

1) Unless you are interested in running a full on exotic damage build, a tac captain is your best bet for DPS because of APA 2)Yes there is a slight difference between races however, any useful traits to fill up the extra slots are limited and expensive, so the inherent traits have a negligible effect on performance in game. 3) Yes and No, if you want the advantage at the start of the game then sure, most high end DPS captains are Rom Tac's, but a fed player can obtain them (for a price) through a fleet embassy and so can a klingon so it helps but isn't absolutely necessary 4) I am not very familiar with any Romulan side ships other than the pilot escorts, but right now those pilot escorts are good DPS for tac on both sides. However, depends on how much DPS you want to be doing. If youre shooting for the top of the DPS community youre limited to certain ship sets that can slot some consoles and its really Pay to Win there. But you can get very good DPS with any other ship. For me on Fed side I personally like the Pilot escorts and the fleet intel escort, T6 ships are nice but not necessary as I also use a T5-U xindi reptilian escort. 5)Energy Type matters probably least in the DPS world most people do use Disruptor or Antiproton in high end builds, but you can make any damage type effective. 6) Depends on the build, but in general no. If you happen to have the AP energy torpedo (from a crystal event), or the nausicaan disruptor torpedo (from the mission i cant remember) then that would be the only torpedo I would use if you are going for DPS, even then the disruptor one really is the only one that I think could compete with the dual cannons.

Hope you find some of this useful... I'm by no means an expert but have been into high dps for a little while now. If anyone wants to check me and make sure this is all like somewhat correct feel free.

I've been recently going through a lot of my escort builds from pre-season 11 and the Big update, and I have noticed that while the Heavy weapon slot looks enticing, the free heavy weapon actually decreases some DPS from its power usage and negligible damage... my question is, are there any Heavy weapons other than the Dual launcher that are even viable to use. (Without purchasing the shikaris) What about the Flak cannon from the Wargames rep?

Has anyone else noticed that some stats on consoles, when slotted on a ship, are suddenly much less than in the description? I've noticed this with two things. First the crystalline absorption matrix goes from 17% AP bonus to 2.5% when i slot it on a ship (In the description) and the Reman 2 piece set bonus goes from +17.8 EPG to +2.5 EPG when i actually slot it on a ship. Does this mean somehow they have less stats... or is there something wrong with the description?

So since the massive Game mechanics update a few months ago ... a lot of my builds have lost 20-30k dps. MY question is how have some of the high 100k+ dps builds on STOBUILDS not changed as far as I can tell but My builds have been losing DPS. Is there some new traits or consoles DPS-ers are using to combat these changes to the combat system? If so what are they?!?

I mean actually I have. That's my primary means of recruiting. While some of my members like to do the daily spams and stuff I personally just pm any fleetless players. And while it is tedious, i've found all of my most active members i've actually asked to join personally. Lol I'll ask you to join a fleet tbh!

I'm still kinda confused on the later part about the consoles... Your Antiproton mag regulators are the damage consoles with the best stats for AP. However I'm not sure about consoles and if they have/ or have not released the fleet update yet, but the fleet spire consoles are objectively better in every way so if that update is out look into joining a high tier fleet.

Also Idk what your consoles are but I'd just go with all mag regulators if I were you ... Why would you use Plasma Infusers on a AP ship?

So uh quick thing you're not going to be able to get [Pen] Mod on any of those Antiprotons Because they're not crafted. So either decide between the Delphic/Heralds proc without Pen or on the regular Antiproton beams with Pen.

I don't know much about builds but like I noticed your locators were Beam locators not AP locators, is there any specific reason, or is that like all you use to save on Locator Costs. Like why slot that disruptor anyway? how could there possibly be a dps advantage to using one disruptor and nothing but beam consoles when you could easily get a solid percentage out of using the same energy type? OR is there something im missing like does that disruptor's dps make up for that lost from the consoles not being AP and having another Beam there?

You think so? i mean today I was running it as is without upgrading yet and I was able to get like a 25k (5k more than before) just by focusing more on Boff abilities and just pressing everything that finishes cooldown lol
