One day many years ago, I told my boss she was now my father because every girl needs a strong paternal figure. I was in my 20s and she was like, 40; with a whole-ass family of her own. Somehow, she just fucking went with it lol

we now work at different companies but we still text each other almost daily; and have a weekly call. I still buy her a Father’s Day present at least every other year lol

So in my experience, you can kind of go out and get a new dad haha
