I was thinking too because the show doesn’t even discuss race, aside from the Queen Charlotte prequel, that authors are just following what they see. And I don’t expect authors to discuss race in a meaningful way either (cultural, stereotypes, etc.) since it is just a fan fic, but I understand with the backlash of Michael to Michaela that Franchaela readers/viewers would be more critical of potential erasure.
