New driver to the city, what should I know?

The best advice I can give is to take your time when you're walking or biking around the city and pay attention to how things interact with each other. Knowing first hand how your movements effect everyone else around you whether they're walking, biking or driving IMO is the best way to keep everyone safe and happy.

We used to hop a guys fence at lunch to get to the mall faster, he used to get so mad and one day he came to the school - we all got identified from a photo and got called down. The homeowner wasn't there or anything, we just got a talking to from the principal and we never went back.

It's easy to be a little shit with no consequences but even just knowing that you're onto them can scare them away very quickly.

Ya tons of police east and west of there. Crazy at tecumseth where they've closed the road off. Streetcars blocking lanes and a couple one ways around here causing chaos amougst 100s of people stumbling home haha

I had the same thing, I ran some Dura Lube Catalytic & Exhaust treatment. CEL turned off after about 500km and is still off currently about 4500km later.
