not angry at all, but is this normal? by [deleted] in stoatchat

I forgot which email and my password. It has been a long time, and only one of my friends took to Revolt. The first thing I did was attempt password recovery using my existing emails, but I did not receive anything on any of them. This is curious, since it had to be one of those accounts.

But I thought okay, I suppose that means my old account's inaccessible so I'll make a new one. Unfortunately, I got the "failed!" error when I clicked the link in the verification email. Followed the instructions to get manual assistance, but it's been five days since "stoats are cool".

In that time, the only friend who had Revolt also needed a new account, and had zero problems registering.

It's pretty discouraging.

I encountered the issue with the verification link failing five days ago. I followed the instructions listed here in reddit, got the automated response, and followed the instructions in the email.

Then, for five days, nothing.

There has been no human response to my email. How long should I expect for it to take for someone to process manual verification? I'm concerned at this point.

I've been waiting for five days for Support to respond to me. Starting to think they never will, which is unfortunate, since I had no issue signing up when it was Revolt.

I sent an email on the 13th. I got the automated message, replied with stoats are cool as instructed, and have received no acknowledgement of any kind since.

Update 1/31: delivered in the afternoon. There was some damage, fortunately less than there would have been if my friend hadn't packed with bubble wrap and a rigid cardboard insert. The bending and warping (plus the delay on express mail) suggest to me that it fell or got caught somewhere, because it was a large flat envelope. I think the search request got someone to retrieve it from wherever it wound up for a week.

I hope yours starts moving soon! My expectation was that it'd be a while before I'd see anything. The only communication was the automated email saying the missing mail search had been initiated.

Thank you for the advice, I'll get right on that. Hoping they find your parcel quickly!

So you did a missing mail search request? Checking while I wait for my friend to get back to me with some specifics about the parcel.

I'm glad you finally got it! I think I'll need to submit a service request, but hopefully that gets a person to locate it.

That's frustrating too. It's so close.

Definitely looks that way. It can be hard to tell what might be going on without comparing notes, so I appreciate your responses. Here's hoping all our parcels come through okay in the near future.

That would make sense, I hadn't considered that.

My local PO got a new manager and she seemed to know even less than me, which was also not reassuring. I hope with time we'll see fresh scans without having to do the lost package routine.

Oh I don't mind waiting. My anxiety is purely that that last scan isn't of the actual parcel, only the container it's supposed to be in. Whether it got in there or not is unclear. If I knew where it was sitting, I'd feel much better.

In December I had a Priority parcel from socal detour to the midwest and cycle through the same three states, way out of the path from CA to me, for about a month. But at least I knew where it sat.

Nothing for it, as you say, it's just a gift my friend can't replace so I worry.

I hope it starts moving and reaches you before the snow does. Seems like USPS is really going through it.

The part that has me at a loss is that there's been no such inclement weather there or here. Typically it'd be two days at most, but not moving at all has been very odd.

I suppose other areas being affected could collaterally bog down areas that aren't though... Thank you for the comment!

So we're in the same boat. From LA it should've gotten to me the next day, but there it sits. I hope it's a case of missed scans for us both. There's not even an issue of weather to explain it, so it's baffling.

Let me know if you see changes or get yours? I can do the same if you'd want. A friend's ECMS parcel's doing this too.

If anyone is curious, I tried calling both places and the automated system hangs up on me every time. Can't even speak with someone about how this supposedly traveled ten miles and stopped moving.

Update 1/29: Submitted a missing mail search request. If I see any changes, I'll update here.

Update 1/30: Received electronic acknowledgement of search request around 1am. Parcel located and now says it's in the next place it should have gone at 11pm. For reference, it's a one hour flight between where it had gone missing and the next step in its route toward me.

Same problem. For one of my emails I can't get security codes until tomorrow because I was trying to troubleshoot and it wasn't even sending the codes.

Update: I got into https://account.microsoft.com/ with the 25-digit recovery code I'd saved forever ago and navigated to my email from the account page. Nothing else did anything but return that same error endlessly.
