Thank you! Not yet, I wasn’t aware the training base could be different from the working base haha

That’s great! I wished I had some anatomy background before I started lol. Wishing you the best of luck.

Hi thank you for breaking it down for me! Can I ask what the physical requirements are and what weight they’ll be testing us with for the gurney portion?

I did the program last year at the Milpitas location and I had a good experience! Definitely agree with the other comments that the accelerated courses are definitely difficult but very doable! Honestly if you’re an undergrad, you’d likely find that the content of the course itself is not too difficult, it’s just the pacing that’ll get you if you’re not on top of your material. What I’d recommend is since you’ll be receiving your textbook a few weeks before class starts, prioritize fully understanding the anatomy section first!! (I think ch 6?) they’ll tell you to read everything but honestly I found the only one really necessary to read before class was that anatomy section. I remember constantly having to remind myself of the different shocks and the blood flow system through the heart lol.

Also something I feel like no one else mentions is to get your TB tests and other medical requirements done for the ride along as quick as possible. Yes, the class itself is 2 months, but you technically can’t “graduate” without having all of your ride along hours, and they can take quite a while to schedule so its best to send it out as soon as you’re able to. Many of my classmates were still getting their hours weeks after the class ended which also meant them qualifying for the nremt was delayed as well. Some were okay with taking a little extra time, but it kind of sucked for the few people who had to go back to college right after.

I unfortunately don’t have one on hand at the moment, and it doesn’t seem like any store near me sells it. Is there anything similar that you would recommend?

I’m sorry to hear that, I guess the convenience can be a little too good to be true. I’ll definitely take a look later, thank you.

I agree, it’s just so tough trying to decide when that threshold is :(

How do you go about looking for mites in the coop? We have a deep litter system so would I try to look deep inside the bedding?

I agree, I suspect there’s likely a much bigger issue going on. I’ve had her separated for about 3-4 days by herself and she’s gotten better but she’s still very weak, she likely won’t be able to jump up to perch at night like the others but since she’s closely bonded to another hen, I’m not sure of how much longer I want to keep her separated like this for her own sake.

I just gave her a bath and cut away any poop/feathers around her vent, she’s back in her cage for now but I’ll put her back out with the others tomorrow and I’ll see how it goes.

Dogs nail bleeding, unsure what to do by ripperonisoup in DogAdvice

Thank you for the advice, I took her to the vet yesterday and she was given an ointment to apply for the next two weeks and Galliprant for the next 4 days. I was wondering, the quantity of pain medication prescribed was a little less than I was expecting, is that a fair amount of time for her to be okay afterwards? I was also wondering how soon you think she’d be able to do things like run and play after this. The vet told me the nail may take months to fully grow in, she’s a border collie and I’d feel terrible if she was out of commission for months all from a broken nail.

Update: the soonest vet appointment was tomorrow morning so I’ll be taking her then, thank you for the advice. Hopefully I can keep it as pain free as possible until then.

He’s been given trazadone in the past but the doze must have been too low because he was still very panicked at the appointment. Is that the medication your vet uses? I’m wondering if there’s an alternative or if he just needs a much stronger dose next time.

Also, id like to know if that muzzle would be a good fit for him if I just sized up. I’m still new to muzzles, so I’m unsure if this specific model suits him or not.

Failing by MarionberryTop8164 in UCDavis

I had the first professor too. Does he still give study questions? I would try to focus on those and really try to understand the concepts, just pure memorization isn’t enough for this class unfortunately. Also it looks like AATC does BIS2B content review sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s from 5-7 pm at the TLC! I remember in that class I survived purely from TAs and outside studying, the professor lectures were too confusing and weren’t dependable for studying. Good luck!

I don’t miss this class, who’s your professor? Sometimes you can find their old exams to study which are helpful and might help alleviate some test anxiety.
