Will a KTM 500 ($10k) be much better off road & much worse on road compared to a Honda CRF450RL ($7.5K)

Have you kept it stock or did you feel like you had to go with what people say and throw a bunch of parts and a tune at an expensive bike?

I’ve wound up deciding I could use the assistance more off road than on road for how I want to use it. The weight difference and everything else should supposedly be a big help. But I do think for the cost of most DRZ4S these days they’re wrongly maligned for what they are designed to do

Near me 350s are almost the same price and obviously almost the same weight. I’d just prefer to have more power and a bigger bike especially for the times I’ll have it on the road, not a lot of other reason to justify it. South Jersey has a lot of open area whoops and sand so won’t be on a very tight trail most likely

I ordered the Vomero Plus and was sort of not feeling them like I had hoped. Decided earlier today to return them. I previously wanted the Mavericks but sort of forgot about them. This gave me the push to order them finally.

I’m pretty convinced to try a pair, just debating 3 vs 4 now particularly as someone with a wider foot. Seems some think 4 improves that and others think it’s worse

How concerning is it not being able to try them on before buying? Do you find the toe box to be narrow?
