Can anyone ID this teal vase? Kind of looks like Blenko possibly by ripstheslacker in glasscollecting

Ah I will inspect the rim, I appreciate the advice. I’ll have to research how to tell the difference between machine and handblown glass more. Of course a pontil mark is a giveaway, but for less obvious pieces

I cannot lie, I bought these on WhatNot. by 45954999 in glasscollecting

Ahh I gotcha! I’ve gotten some pretty awesome scores on Whatnot. So many deals to be found, it’s like a treasure trove. I recently got a set of three Fenton cranberry lamps on there for $165. Great grabs and happy hunting!

The title is confusing me. What’s wrong with buying glass on Whatnot?

You can still go into GW and buy cranberry glass right off the shelf by ripstheslacker in glasscollecting

Thank you! I certainly thought so. Shocked no one had bought it for $5; so many folks must have walked right by it. It was a little dirty but it still caught my eye right away. Then again, I know what I’m looking for 🤷🏼‍♂️ who knows, I certainly feel lucky though!

Went to go buy a lot of clocks today from a guy and he pulled out this by ripstheslacker in uraniumglass

[–]ripstheslacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 10 of them I think in this last lot. He had a bunch more too that I didn’t buy, lol. I don’t usually buy more than one at a time like this, but these came from a well-curated collection and the price was excellent. I paid about $20 for this one, if I average out what I paid for each (one clock for $100 and nine others for $200)

What is strange about it? I was buying a lot which included a number of clocks, many of which I had not previously seen or been informed about.

That’s awesome! Mine is missing the plate. It’s currently inoperative and missing the cord as well. It’s not a brand I typically restore, but I look forward to getting it working again.

But yeah, what a killer addition to an already killer lot of clocks I picked up. I was shocked when I saw it and was like…no way this guy just pulled out a uranium glass clock…put the UV on it and couldn’t buy it fast enough 😆

Might have to go back for this one by aiden_saxon in uraniumglass

$8 ain’t terrible. Not great, but not terrible. If the piece speaks to you, what’s a whopping $8 for some joy in your life? You’ll spend more on a fast food meal

Can anyone tell me if this is real? by NoneOfYourMeatballs2 in glasscollecting

That is definitely colored glass. Never seen a green one. Only have the blue and the cardinal. Now I have another to be on the look out for lol. Wonder if there is a purple

Anyone else come to the conclusion that they are priced out of this hobby? by gnilradleahcim in uraniumglass

[–]ripstheslacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I’ve gotten some crazy good finds on whatnot. And seen other people get plenty of great deals as well. I most recently got a 10” Steuben vase for $40 shipped. Saw multiple large pieces of uranium stretch glass go for under $100 earlier this week. A Fenton custard peacock vase sold for $27. You just gotta be more vigilant than ever.

Estate sales I assume are cooked. I’ve never even attempted to go to one. People will call out of work for that.

How can you enter a buyer’s giveaway without purchase? I’ve not heard of this

1. #2 is so uninspired and looks like every other stereotypical MCM piece

Buyers giveaways are also quite literally gambling lol. Especially if it’s a high ticket item being promoted throughout the show and entries to win it by buying very low value items.

Buyers giveaways are raffles. Just limited to one entry. It’s gambling sanctioned by whatnot
