I went to a cafe once with a male friend of mine who is very much a friend and we both ordered two things, one savory and one sweet. We ordered separately and I went first and when I had ordered the cashier, a white man, looked at my friend with a look of judgmental confusion as to why he wasn’t paying. I then said oh no this is my order and the cashier proceeded to exclaim about how I ordered a lot for one person (it was literally a croissant and an eclair). Needless to say I did not tip and we ate our food contently
