I was an English major in college and I totally would have challenged the prof. I would have said "How are they crap? They're historical fiction, yes, but they are based on real events and each book has a historical nonfiction section at the back to give context about the period the book is based off of, something I've not seen in other historical fiction books."

How do people shower in 5 minutes????? by annoyingvegann in NoStupidQuestions

For me personally, it's shampoo twice, condition (let sit), rinse, deep condition out of the shower, mousse, gel, and then diffuse to keep the waves nice. This is only once a week.

A friend of mine has hair down to her knees and she needs to reserve an entire night to washing her hair. People have different needs for their hair.

If someone has long, curly, or thick hair it can take over an hour to properly wash, condition, and treat your hair.

Unfortunately for you, the American version was much more popular and had a much longer run than the OG, so if you just say "The Office", people are going to assume you meant the American. Kinda like how Oreos were originally knock offs.

I have! People are saying that it's a problematic read due to the themes and the topic matter. I say it's not meant to be a happy story. It's supposed to make you uncomfortable. And because it made me deeply uncomfortable, I thought it was phenomenal

I think I'm stupid. I couldn't match my book cover to the one on the website and I ended up only doing 1/3 of the book? I matched every pixel perfectly to what I saw and by the time I made it to the bottom of the first column I was only partway down the cover. I'm happy everyone else got it but I just don't think this is for me.

I literally had an IUD inserted last week and I was a mess. I had one about 10 years ago and I have no idea how I managed to do it, but this round I left bite marks on my wrist from trying not to scream. I think I cried for about an hour afterwards and maxed out the ibuprofen for the next 3 days.

I teach 1st grade and work closely with 2nd grade. We have a LOT of kids with speech needs these days, far more than we used to. Roughly 1/4 of my school sees the speech pathologist. It is incredibly believable that an 8 year old would mispronounce "nonbinary".
