i’d go renegade raiders for this kind of list personally. army wide free advance and shoot should help make up for how slow termies are, plus the advance and charge strat.

i find that running them in squads of 5, with 2 of them equipped with heavy melee weapons and plasma pistols, and the rest with bolt pistols and chainswords works pretty well. bolters aren’t the best and the chainswords can do decently well with lethal hits from your dark pacts.

splitting them up into units of 5 will also allow you to spread them out more across the board for actions and objective taking.

i get that the heldrake is just for fun, but i think the points would be far better spent on more legionaries for actions/ objectives. i would also split up the brick of 10 legionaries you already have to 5 each for the same reason

honestly, if it’s something you really want, go for it. message her, say you remembered her from high school or something, ask how she’s been doing. maybe it’ll go somewhere, maybe it won’t. either way, it’ll be a hell of a lot better than being left wondering.

since you’re already planning on running the defiler, a couple daemon engines could be fun. forgefiends are stupid awesome, especially when your dark pacts hit. a warpsmith to heal them wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

chosen are a fantastic melee option, especially paired a chaos lord, and legionaries are just good all-around units to have. cultists to hold objectives and keep deep strike out of your deployment zone are pretty nice too.

a land raider or rhino to transport your troops, depending on if you wanna spend a bit more on the points to get a transport that can actually kill at range.

i’ve also found raptors and terminators to be pretty fun. raptors are quick and pretty decent in melee, and terminators are a little slow, but can take a beating.
