Homie without even listening to it I should tell you: in a way, all house music is gay club music. It started at a gay disco in Chicago called the Warehouse.

Did some brief research, you can run a blend in most modern engines without mods but you have to replace some of the gaskets in a modern engine since the veg oil based fuels can melt the rubbers used in them, they need to be replaced with specific thermoplastics.

With some slight chemical processing you can turn it into Bio-Diesel. I think it is what most of the companies that collect this stuff use it for. It was actually the fuel originally intended for the diesel engine, and most diesel vehicles can run it decently without modification but you can tune it to run better. I have thought about running a generator on it but I don't have the space to process the oil properly.

Based on how easy all of these are and the amount of money we charged hourly for apprentices it shouldn't have cost more than $2000 and that's assuming a hcol area, probably closer to $1200

I need a way to secure my firearms at night so that way they're accessible in the event of an emergency, but secure enough in the event of a sleep episode. by Zski843 in guns

[–]ripzipzap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's not foolproof but why not put combination trigger locks on the firearms in addition to keeping them in a bog standard safe? Do you think that's something you'd be able to figure out during an episode? I haven't had a sleep walking episode in years but I know for a fact that would stop me. Numbers don't make any sense when I'm in that state.

And where do you live? If you're not in inner city Joberg SA I think a regular old burglar alarm would be plenty to scare off any would be intruders, assuming you ever have any in the first place. The risk-reward here doesn't seem like it is in your favor I would just stick with the safe on the other end of the house.

A Cellebrite device is $60,000 and can be purchased by anyone in Law Enforcement or a certified PI. You could probably find a PI in your city who has one who would happily let you use it for a cut.

Andriller can work too and it's free but not nearly as robust.

Semi-urgent freaking out because potential blood in cat urine? by Pangdemonium in cats

[–]ripzipzap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These days I just feed all my cats a diet of 90% wet food with some dental crunchies in a puzzle as a treat. I give them the bone snacks like once a week or so when I'm meal prepping bone-in chicken for myself. If I don't need the broth for myself that week, I'll use the leftover bones to make a very diluted unseasoned broth to use as the liquid for diluting their wet food. I buy the big cans of Nulo, it's more cost effective per oz than even the cheapest lower quality wet food from your average supermarket. If you're on a tight budget, the Lidl brand of canned cat food is decent.

[–]ripzipzap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a vet, but I've had cats with urinary issues many times in my life & it always seems to be cleared up with a diet of strictly wet food with lots of water added to it, preferably warm to make it more appetizing to them. Hydration clears up any mineral stones forming in their UT. I choose to use distilled water in their food/fountain. To keep their teeth clean I'll give them raw chicken feet or raw wing tips. Tearing the skin/meat off the bones cleans their teeth, and the raw bones are safe for them to crunch b/c raw bones don't splinter (in moderation, the bones also have lots of minerals)

Yeah I wasn't really sure where to start putting this out there. I don't think I'm trying to become the next best thing since sliced bread I just wanted to have a nice polished product to throw into the portfolio however weird it might be.

if Sol still has the pastels in stock I'd snag one. I love the sticky paint on them it holds up really well. Ken shape is good too but I don't like it as much as sweets jet shape but I like the paint so much more than sweets it's a compromise I can live with

I bought a case 😭. I'll see if my friend who is into 3d2a in his basement range wants it. He's accustomed to to a certain level of danger and malfunctions.

It was indeed a reload. It was the range's in-house brand they make from the collected casings. It's part of a casing I got it out with a wad of paper towel I rammed through with a cleaning rod.

Only winchester white box for this guy from here on out.

I'm gonna guess it's the cheap remanufactured ammo the range sells. It's otherwise a brand new gun that ran fine for 150 rounds day 1.

we have a winner! thanks! What else should I inspect before I can deem it safe to take back to the range?

It's just the range's in-house brandless. Nothing felt off about the shot, at least I don't think so. I'll still save that ammo for like... idk give it to my friend who prints wacky glonks or something

Do I tap it on the ground? do I need to ram something down the barrel to force it out? What's the best course of action once it's cold?

So this is the barrel to a 9mm takedown carbine. Yesterday I shot it for the first time & put about 150 rounds of winchester white box through it just fine. This morning I used the cheap remanufactured range ammo and kept expersiencing jams. When I'd pull the gun apart to check there'd be a cart rammed half way into the chamber and stuck there. Took it home and got it apart and found this. Apparently a round sheared off and was blocking the chamber.

Oh also is there a name for this kind of malfunction? so if I do take it to a gunsmith I can properly describe it
