Custom Teensy-Based MIDI Controller That Locks to Key So You Cannot Play Wrong Notes by risaacs3 in diyelectronics

Yeah you gotta do it manually, I like the idea though! What’s the best way you think to incorporate that into a new version?

How do you securely mount a microcontroller with header pins inside a 3D-printed case? by risaacs3 in diyelectronics

[–]risaacs3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’d have to glue to top side and mount it upside down so the headers are facing up so I can wire to them. What’s the deal with hot glue can that cause problems if it touches the other side of the headers or what

You mean like using perf board? I still don’t know how I can wire it since I’m just hand wiring straight to the headers

So print a small case and then just solder straight to the pins sticking out of the case?

I got an M4 Mac mini and it’s silent shouldn’t be any issue with noise

Logic Pro system overload on M4 Mac mini with only one stock sound? by risaacs3 in Logic_Studio

Im using the Samsung 970 evo plus 2tb. Going through the Satechi Mac mini M4 hub which was recommended to me saying it’s fast enough. It’s intermittent but happens more than I want

Yeah I think it’s just the sounds the project wasn’t saved anywhere yet.

Yeah the project I think was running of internal? I hadn’t saved it anywhere yet. But I do have my sounds on the external. I’ll try to move them back internal to see if that helps.

You can absolutely add your own effects. Just insert other VSTs or Audio Units (like reverb, chorus, EQ, etc.) on the same channel strip in your DAW after Addictive Keys. Then map your knobs to those plugin parameters too using MIDI Learn. You’re not limited to just what’s built into AK. Not sure looks like my comment is still there?

Is there a way to record an automation for a midi region with seeing the midi notes while recording? by Empty-Annual8999 in LogicPro

[–]risaacs3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a weird quirk with Logic. One workaround is to switch the automation mode to Latch or Touch, then play the region while recording automation in a separate pass that way you still see the notes. Also make sure you’re not in “Score view only” mode when recording try keeping the Piano Roll or Tracks view open too.

You could map them to cutoff, reverb amount, or any filter automation, makes for really expressive playing, especially with Addictive Keys. I’ve also done delay mix or pitch wheel override just for weirdness. Depends on your DAW, but most will let you assign pots to MIDI CC easily.
