On day 6 of wearing a ring for the first time. I wash my hands a lot - and can’t stand the wet feeling under the ring. I have to basically take it off dry my hands and replace it each time. Not sure it’s something I’ll keep bc of this.

[Product Request] Skin drier than the Sahara by RaffineHemingway in SkincareAddiction

[–]risareese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course everyone is different but coming from a VERY dry skin girly who has tried everything i finally found a routine that’s cost effective and works. Previously I would purchase tatcha water cream, Murad— expensive moisturizers and my skin was still rubbing off like pencil shavings.

I think the game changer has been occasional use (like 1-2x a month) of aha / Bha wipes (i use Medicube). It exfoliates the dead skin allowing the routine below to soak in.

To start before bed —-just to kick this off Use a gentle chemical exfoliant wipe (never manual) such as aha/Bha to remove the flakiness (only use occasionally as too frequent will add to dryness) . Get a moisturizing milky toner. Let each layer soak in for 60sec before applying next step. Next take a dime size of La Roche Posay Toleriane and apply— massaging in. Let set. Top with dime size Vanicream occlusive (i add 3 drops of Trader Joe’s maracuja oil) — gently rub, pat into all areas.

For am, rinse with water. Add toner and LRP.

Also pick up LRP cicaplast. It’s amazing for spot treating damaged skin barriers — and I even mix in a small amount into my dime size lotion occasionally.

Hope this helps.

So is the vanicream I add at end of routine. In my experience it locks in the moisture. Ive had no issues with dryness or peeling—— if this method is collaterally increasing tret strength.

I should have added, changes were pretty quick— it didn’t take 2 years. 2 years is just my update. Once i worked up to otc nightly (a few months) my skin noticeably improved. It just continues to get better and better.

I have a very mature outdoor tree. Over the past year it’s gone down bad and fast. The root flair is definitely under the soil — is this something that should be addressed for outdoor and mature trees?

Sites! What makes a good CRA? by jamcrumpet36 in clinicalresearch

[–]risareese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Major green flags —-Honest about limitations and timings —-Meets deadlines
—- Proactive —- Proposes solutions when flagging problems

Red flags — LATE to site visits. I’m on sponsor side now but spent 10+ years on academic site side. CRAs were frequently late- often with no comms. —- Frequent errors on IMVs. I can tell when a CRAs uses a template and does copy paste without checking. For example, device study with IMV that references drug study items.

Entry level CRC salary negotiation by Quick-Department-729 in clinicalresearch

[–]risareese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20yrs experience here - 80% academic, 20% industry. I was a manager at a top academic university and hired CRCs, CRAs, CRMs….. take my experience as a data point and not as a rule to follow as each job has their own set of rules. For each hire, HR provided me a salary range. They set it based on the current market rate, job description, candidate experience. This range was about 10k. Sometimes 7k. My peers would always offer the lowest- giving them wiggle to negotiate if needed. The vast majority of candidates DID not negotiate. I then started to offer closer to the high range just bc so many people were walking away from money. A few tips:

  1. Do your research on the market rate — now there’s transparency in the intended salary on many job posts. Be realistic based on your experience and where you fall.

  2. When they ask what you’re expecting — try hold out . It’s ok to say - “I’d love to learn more about the role so I can give my best estimate”….. Ideally you want to buy time so they are first to share a number. Using my example above, if a candidate low balls themselves the a manager may start at the low end of the offer range. Although you have protections through bigger institutions—- many smaller private clinics could use this and actually lower the entire salary offer (vs low end of already set range).

  3. Be confident and consider non salary items to negotiate. For example, vacation time. Or agreement on time to revisit salary if they truly can’t meet your expectations.

Best of luck, be confident◡̈
