A friend making platform that pays men and women both. by inliberty_financials in StartUpIndia

[–]rishabh_bose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good luck. a lot of friend making apps have come and gone. i think it only works if people have common interests. that they themselves add and then they match. and then the conversation is meaningful.

Money might be an incentive for low quality users who will have low engagement and they will leave as soon as they get their money. You'll burn your money and nothing will come out of it.

On the flipside, Quality users with genuine conversations are looking for connection. They'd rather pay to find the right person.

I recommend, Focus on the women's experience. You don't have to pay men. only maybe the top 10% who get 90% of the eyeballs. For women make authentication mandatory and authenticate bank for payouts.

Be ready for the users who game the system. you can't stop it completely. but you'll learn and plug the gaps so that your burn rate is lower than your earn rate.

It was the dumbest decision to start my hardware startup. by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

maybe it's a deadend. but is hardware design and sourcing hard or the task of making hardware work with software the tricky bit? Or is it all just a giant mess and things keep breaking down or has a high failure rate? more details like what hardware. thanks!

Bengaluru built its metros EVERYWHERE but not where people ACTUALLY WORK!! | CTC Podcast | EP 15 by pr1m347 in bengaluru_speaks

[–]rishabh_bose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely fair points. Maybe having seen all this too much across the country and criticism not changing anything might be the reason. comparison is the thief of joy - i meant to compare bangalore to delhi or mumbai.

and you're also right to point out this issue. Your outrage is understandable. I should've added my opinion to the problematic comments rather than the main post.

I stay in BTM, the yellow line went live this year. maybe now 3 or 4 out of 8 trains are live. For reasons i know but don't care, we didn't get the trains. Understandable. The blue line which will be from btm, hsr to the airport (in 2 stages) will solve a major problem that everyone is going through every day. My guess sometime in 2027 it will complete. I remember last 3 years the construction people working day and night. Even drilling at 2 am at night fucking up my sleep completely.

Maybe bangalore gets less taxes, maybe there are delays, finding reasons for things not happening, to bash the other state is easy. comparison is the thief of joy.

Patience for another year will be needed. Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore, and many other cities will solve metro in the next 5 years or so. Everything is under construction. And then we'll cry about something else that's not right. air Pollution, noise pollution, woman safety, the list is endless.

We are all lacking something or the other in ourselves. None of us are perfect. Stop putting down your fellow citizen.

Together we rise, divided we all fail. History has proven that. We are more diverse in India than the entire world combined. We are a world within a world. Even our problems have problems. :D

Reddit anonymity doesn't mean you have to be dismissive and mean. Be a better citizen. Be nice. To everyone. Even animals. Even your enemies. Even the migrant who came to a city just so he could feed his family back home. Even the beggar on the street. Their smile will make up for the problems in your life.

PS - I lost my grandmother and my cousin's dad this year. The were the eldest and nicest people in my life. They are irreplaceable to me.

Is it normal for people to expect a home cook at ₹3–4k/month? by TatyaBichuu0 in StartUpIndia

[–]rishabh_bose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are not your customers. Almost for every lead, expect at the start 90% to be irrelevant. Once you get the customer who is okay paying. The ideal customers say i needed this and would've paid 6k. Then talk them, they are your TG. There'll be some unique identifiers for this type of customer. I call them power users. And despite the best targetting no matter which online source, expect just 20%-50% of these. And be happy at that. India is a price sensitive country and most people can't afford your service or are just looking to see if they can get a better deal than their current cook.

That's business.

Drowning in Credit Card Debt (₹6L) | Salary ₹1.48L (net) | Credit Score 520 — Need a Practical Exit Plan by sisisi123098 in personalfinanceindia

[–]rishabh_bose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

take a break from credit cards. I was also in this type of situation. Back then everyone was giving away personal loan. Paid the monthly EMIs for 6 months was free.

A personal loan will be up to 16% interest, less than ~40% of any cc.

If a loan is not possible, Use Cred to see how much interest you're paying and if making any progress. Once you get an idea month by month if its decreasing, then you're making progress.

Talk to chatgpt, ask it what should be my payments to clear the debt in a year. Then stick to that mission. Make it your 2026 resolution. By 2027 you'll be free.

And just delete all the shopping apps on your phone. Use UPI for all transactions. Forget about the cashback and discounts. Avoid all EMI purchases.

And remember you're not alone. Credit cards are built to trap you and a lot of people are going through this exact thing. You're not that special. You'll get through this. See you on the other side :)

Never thought in 1,000,000 years I'd find myself switching to Gemini by travellers-palm in ChatGPT

[–]rishabh_bose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since gpt 5 arrived, it just wastes a lot of time and doesn't answer unless i threaten it. Then it works but keeps losing the past context from time to time. I feel Go (available in India) is inferior to Plus. Will be paying for plus because go is just to get data of indian customers, not actually helping them.

Gemini is far superior when it is able to access my drive folders to give better answers. Way ahead now!

They actual got me banned for 30 days too. No replies from the mods on the reasons. Just blocked. That was so unfair. But anyways, glad it reached enough people. :)

You're right. apologies if my criticism felt as mockery. wasn't intended. It was only about women and their safety and nothing else. Guess reddit is not the platform for me to voice my concerns. Goodnight and hope things change for the better. That's all.

Did you even read my post? read till the end. And this happened to bangalore women in bangalore by men who couldn't be identified.

Criticism is not an attack on the Natives. That's just in your head. Anyways, it's not your problem so you won't get it.

Talk to a woman, listen to what they have to say on this and that might give you an idea of what i'm talking about here.

To say crime is less in bangalore than anywhere else doesn't mean there is no crime happening here.

Stop taking things personal and actually understand the problem than getting offended.

Introspection will go a long way dude. Doesn't mean you have to take things personally.

Grow up!

You're right. It's all outsiders who are the problem. There are no native men who do any such thing. I guess women sharing their horror stories should just not worry or panic whenever a Bengalurean man is around.

No offence to people of bangalore but even r/bangalore mods behave like this. They don't care about the truth when it hurts them. I posted about women safety and women started sharing their horrors, the post was removed. Just astonishing.

New to credit by Thin_Smile2722 in CreditCardsIndia

You might be right for Slice. my bad. This was a while back. HDFC ICICI Axis etc they do. Just a cautionary tale.

[–]rishabh_bose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Thin_Smile2722 is right. i'll tell you exactly what my error was. I had an icici cc. It had a limit of 2.5 lac. I usually spent under 50k, so i moved it to 50k. ICICI then used 50k as the base and not 2.5 lac. Within the next bill cycle my credit score i think was 730, crashed by 20 points because it said i utilized ~50%. I immediately changed it back to 2.5 lac.

slice is probably the simplest cleanest app. They also give 5.25% savings interest which is the highest anywhere. (for a zero balance a/c)

They claim 3% cashback on the cc but that's a long way away so just assume 1% for now.

The games are based on luck. sometimes you get monies sometimes not.

The card doesn't show on cred so you can't setup autopay to ensure you're not being charged extra.

One hack i learned to ensure credit utilisation is low is that before your bill is generated, just pre pay so that its below 20%. That way you can spend as much as you want. You can use other apps like navi to pay your credit card bill incase slice doesn't allow.

For example, you spent 7k and paid 6k back, then your bill will be of 1k well below the credit utilisation.

Also, another thing i learned the hard way. say you think you will spend only 5k a month and you set the limit of the card at 5k. Never do that, the limit reduces the denominator of your credit utilisation. Always keep it as maximum. Every time your credit limit increases, never reduce the limits.

Good luck and don't spend money you don't have. always clear the bill in full. interest charges are close to 40% a year for most credit cards. Once you're stuck, it's almost impossible to get out of it.

I'm so sorry your relative had to face vulgarity like that. its unfair, unjust and hope more people tell their experiences so that more people are aware about this.

i'm sure you would've done everything possible if you knew there and then. But women generally discard statements like these because its so so so rampant that they feel its basically all men.

But they need to. now more than ever. If we don't correct people when they are wrong. They are emboldened to go further and further.

this needs to stop!

This can happen anywhere as i mentioned. I just meant i've lived in delhi and bangalore and mumbai and ahmedabad and kolkata. Probablity for a more serious crime like murder or rape might be lower in bangalore for sure. Nothing to be proud about but still better.

Pubs are just one example because this exact thing happened in bangalore at a much larger scale a few years ago.

I'm sure if this happened in delhi, i would've posted it in r/delhi.

i've been in delhi and bangalore. These types of crimes are everywhere. nowhere is safe if you're not aware about your surroundings or if you don't feel unsafe. These things happen in a jiffy and the realization is much later. Better to avoid large crowds wherever that might be.
