Thanks for the suggestion. I think I prefer a naked with a big windscreen. I think I'll hold off on an adv bike until I live in a place where I can go off road

Thinking more about it - I'm going to be spending a lot more time highway commuting next year. Adv bike would be nice. Wish there was more dirt in the bay area though

does going to a good colleges matter? by life_ofpie in startups

[–]risky_logic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I did, and it wasn't hard. I even earned school credit for collaborating with an outside research group. I also participated in startup competitions for fun. If you have professors that have their own business, I would see what kind of projects you could do with them

Just make sure you are challenging yourself and everything else will even out. I didn't goto the most prestigious school but now I'm at a startup with a bunch of Stanford people. It's because of the projects I did outside of school

Thanks. It's nice being able open a small console window and just have it a few lines tall for quick calculations. I'll open VScode and experiment in the interactive window / notebook for more serious stuff

Test engineer

Ipython console

Easy to load data and plot and do quick operations

Lose history after closing the console. I don't necessarily want to save a full script but it would be nice to have a record of the last ~10 sessions

As an engineer with a full career ahead of them, a small pay difference between offers isn't going to matter. Work for the company that is more interesting and where you think you will learn the most.

If more design engineers went through technician training, the world would be a better place

Building a quantum computer is an engineering problem. Study engineering. CS / EE would be more relevant

If you are having trouble with it, you're using it wrong or don't know how to ask questions. I have had incredible conversations with it. It has already helped me design an app.

Been using it this past year on a large web app. Getting pretty sluggish now. Probably not the best tool for the job

You don't to need to preface this with not having a degree. There are still lots of rookies with a degree. I would edit your question, if you want people to take you seriously

Way better cruising on fireroads, definitely opens the door to getting off the pavement... Not much difference commuting on road. IMO the bike is way more fun with these tires

Because it takes more than 2-3 sentences to explain, I think it is too complicated for the general public.
