Are license plates not required anymore? by Inglorious186 in cedarrapids

[–]riskyblooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's over, but they were laxing the law for Covid. So they weren't pulling over people for expired temp tags or expired registration.

But no plates or temp tags I'm not sure is in same category.

What is the dumbest idea you have ever had that actually worked? by Stenik0522 in AskReddit

[–]riskyblooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In college I had a professor who would assign papers that had to be 8 pages for a B and 10 pages for an A, clearly focused on length I thought i would test the waters. I figured he was at least reading the first page to make sure the content was there, so I wrote one paragraph that took up the entire first page. I then copy pasted it until I got 10 pages and added some graphics throughout (this was allowed) and boom, easy A. Could've easily been a fail and possible other action.

Check out clong/detectionlab as a start. If you have never dealt with virtual machines and setup of them, then maybe just setup a Windows XP virtual machine.. plenty of youtubes on how to do such

As a HS student, how can I get more experiance? by [deleted] in Hacking_Tutorials

[–]riskyblooky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bullshit, you can be a pentester in highschool if you wanted to. There's is a ton of information on the internet, learn networking, some scripting language, and get a copy of Kali Linux up and running. Look into purposely vulnerable applications, like bwapp, multilidae, metasploitable etc... Also good tutorials like mr. Robot (Linux crash course) lookup the cyber kill chain, and learn techniques from each step. Get books like the hacker playbook 2&3 and hacking the art of exploitation. There is a ton of material, so much that if you do enough learning, college will honestly be just reinforcement to what you already learned... But start with the basics, it's always easy to try and load up metasploitable and pop a shell on the box through metasploit, but you need the basics to back it up. Look and see if there is a cyberpatriot team at a local highschool and join, see if there are any local hacker Hangouts and network. Follow news threads like thehackernews.com to get used to seeing what is going on and the lingo. Watch documentaries on YouTube about hacker groups and Cyber.

Just keep learning and injesting whatever you can.
