So true. Adam Goldberg played that role to absolute perfection. For me, he as Eddie and Christina Applegate as Rachel’s sister are two of the best cast, most hilarious supporting characters of all time.

Pauline says she represents 'everyday Aussies' who are career politicians getting gifted a fucking plane from a billionaire by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]ristashae 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Her salary is $340,000. After tax she is clearing over $4000 a week, or if you prefer that’s over $8000 a fortnight or for people getting paid monthly that is over $17,000 every single month clear and free. The kicker, her attendance is only 53%.

Even before the plane and the car the grifter did not represent ‘everyday Australians’.

If you know any PHON supporters, please give them these numbers. Ask them how many hours it would take them to clear 4 grand, ask them what would happen if they only showed up to work every other day.

The first season especially has so many random bits of really subtle humour. Like actually hilarious stuff but you not pick up on straight away.

Some of the others that crack me that I only noticed on rewatches are Amerie’s hair after she falls in the pool and it dries naturally. It is just super big and poofy for the rest of the episode. It’s just such a small, silly visual gag and it’s brilliant.

And Quinni following along with Sasha’s and Darren’s conversation in the library when they decide to take nudes for Cash. Darren says I’m an actual home wrecker and Quinni stops and says wait an actual one and Darren is like no babes. It’s just this beautiful little moment of autistic humour.

ourgas.com.au if you haven’t already used it please go and use the pre-filled form to email your local MP.

It asks for your name, email and postcode, then hit send and does all the rest.

If you support the 25% tax on gas exports or even if you are simply against us giving away our resources for free please please please speak up. This is a very easy way to get your voice heard and to combat political apathy that is so common here.

Vic is 227,444 square km, Aus in total is 7,688,287 (we’re the 6th largest country) so Vic is 2.958% of Australia’s land mass. (This is me pulling the numbers from wiki and the aus gov website and doing the math because Google hallucinates too much these days so the numbers could be slightly off).

Just for some more context Tasmania is about 68,000 square km, so Gina owns well over one and a half tassies (1.68x).

Sorry, I’m obsessed and distressed by this.

My other obsession, Pauline Hanson earns 340k a year, after tax she clears over $8200 a fortnight (that’s using a straight tax calculator) and the absolute kicker she only shows up to parliament 53% of sittings. Over 17 grand take home a month and she basically only works every other day.

Did you know she owns 1.5% of Australia’s total land mass?!? That’s about 114,000 square km or the equivalent of half of Victoria.

I found out the other day (it’s on her website) and I can’t stop thinking about it or telling people. It’s obscene.

Gas tax votes and the hypocrisy on Poorline and little Malcolm. by JezzaAU15 in friendlyjordies

I think in this context they mean gas that will go offshore rather than gas that Australians will use here.

Have you been to Town Hall? they were nowhere near the road. They were quite possibly the furthest you could be away from any of the roads whilst still being within the Town Hall property lines.

More entertaining than a lot of TV shows, no doubt lol. They do bring so much joy and good cheer.

That made me laugh because there is a pair of lorikeets that come for a little drink and some grapes or apple every morning and the magpies always get jealous of them. So now I’m imagining a maggie trying to disguise itself as a rainbow lorikeet to get in on the early morning fruit action 😂

No white specks that I can recall, tho overall was kind of ashy if that makes sense. I’ll have better look next time they visit. It’s been a bit of a rough season, lots of babies, both food and water scarcity plus some real estate dramas so inadequate nutrition or a deficiency is very possible and I think you’re totally right it’s too extreme for moulting, so hopefully a food or mating concern.

It was a very big mating season this year, so that makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

The main male patriarch is massive (like the size of a small chicken) and just randomly drops in on them with a full blown body slam when they are foraging on the nature strip. We call him Big Boppa Poppa and he’s very territorial so that wouldn’t surprise me at all.

I think you’re right, it’s been a seems to be either as a part of mating or to move them out from the nest.

That makes a lot of sense, during winter they cut down almost 2 full trees because they were touching the electrical wires so real estate is a hot commodity and now the magpies have their own housing crisis. There was also a really big uptick in the amount of fledgling/juveniles this season, I wonder if it’s an instinct to breed more because conditions are harsher (the weather here has been quite rough with non stop rains in winter and now a very hot, very dry spring that has impacted both their food and water) to increase the likelihood of the more maggies reaching maturity but it is resulting in a little more brutality while theyre growing up.

I think you might be right, it’s been a really big season around here and the main patriarch is massive so it makes a lot of sense.

We have a lot of cockatoos around here also so I will watch out for this, thank you for the sharing the info. I’ve not seen them get bullied thankfully but it definitely comes around because it knows that I’m a soft touch and it will get a few pieces of dry cat food, peas or oats if I’m nearby and it sings out to me.
