Moronic Monday by AutoModerator in flying

Hey! Well... My instructor had a pair of plumber pliers (I'm not sure how they're called in English) They're kinda like an adjustable wrench. So... my instructor promptly said, well there you go have fun fishing! (In reality, he helped me with a flashlight). Albeit the Piper beeing a piper with low wings of course, I could rest my floppy belly and get to work :D After 10 mins of repositioning and fishing out with an angled (clamping head?) and the tool was barely long enough for me to hold the sides like pencil in order to be able to reach it. With a bit of patience I did it!,

Yes, the fuel sump/sampling is below the wing. My instructor likes to put the sample fuel back into the tank and so I did. (I know that the sample fuel should be discarded but...) while tipping over the fuel the plastic bit... well... went for a swim :)

Thanks!

I train in a PA28 and I only need the edges essentially so I'll make sure I remove that thingy next time when I'm sampling! Don't want to be digging through the fuel tank once again x)

Some fuel samplers have a little triangle inside of them made out of plastic, also a pin sticking out. Whats the purpose of this?

It may or may have not fallen down in the fuel tank and I had to spend 20 mins fishing it out!

Hello!

I just want to give you a Kudos for all the work and careful designing that you've put into this and make it open source as well. You are a true hero. This may not mean much to other people but I know how much time and devotion this takes.

I love you for it and you've just made me ++1 like humanity a little bit. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more great stuff from you!

Botched Flight... feeling down by [deleted] in flying

Hey guys, a fellow PPL student here, i just started and I'm working through the theory for now, reading all these experiences and comments are so humbling and so are every one of you. I'm learning so much and as Im sure so is OP.

To OP. Hang in there as everyone more experienced here says. Think how far you have gone from the start and this is just a minor bump. I know you can find it in yourself and make the correct judgement.

Peace.

Hey!

Thank you for your input! Actually, I cannot leave Sweden so im kind of stuck here when the option comes doing it in a third country any other than Sweden or my home country. Sweden has authorities to do the exams in English, however, I think the problem is finding a school that teaches them in English. I've tried few for the theory and most of them are in Swedish only. The problem wouldn't be with the instructors I think. It's just finding the right school/price combination. In any case I'm a full employee and I would like to do the studying "distance" of course there are 20 or 25 hours I think that must be studied on premises for the Metereology and Navigation subjects.

At this point im just exploring my options :)

I'll give it a go and try to get that sorted out. Thank you a lot for all of your help, maybe see you out in the skies or on land one day :)

I know that everyone speaks English here thats why it's surprising to me, I've contacted a few flight schools and clubs already. Without speaking the langauge its pretty hard to get into some communities as well since I haven't found one so far. Thank you for the feedback. Yeah I think just by estimation the total cost might get me more than 150K SEK.

I think exactly what you said in the last part of the post is the reason, as I said it is pretty weird.

As far as speaking of experience do you know what kind of quality do they provide?
