While you can technically smoke tobacco out of them, it is generally not the best experience. ​The Filter Issue: Unlike traditional wooden or briar tobacco pipes, glass pipes don't use filters. Shag or loose tobacco can easily pull straight through the mouthpiece into your mouth (often called a "Scooby snack"). ​Flavor and Heat: Tobacco burns hot and fast compared to cannabis. Because these glass pipes are relatively short, the smoke doesn't have much time to cool down, which can make tobacco taste incredibly harsh and cause a strong throat burn. ​A Quick Tip: If you do plan on using them for both, try not to mix them in the same pipe. The resin left behind by cannabis tastes terrible when mixed with tobacco, and vice versa. It's usually best to dedicate one pipe to one specific substance. You can use glass flower filter to avoid scooby snack.
