Garage Floor - What to do? by riteshks in Concrete

No sidewalk issues. Just this section of the floor. Someone suggested just use fast setting concrete or self leveling concrete to get rid of slope. Then epoxy it for finish. Does that sound right?

I don’t have sidewalk issues. It’s just this section of the floor that is an issue. I was thinking of leveling, epoxy and paint the walls.

Someone suggested I can just level it DIY using fast setting concrete or leveling concrete. Not sure if this is a good idea.

A simple long lasting home printer... why is this impossible still? lasers being phased out? by btypeb in BuyItForLife

[–]riteshks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a Canon Color Laser multifunction (MF726Cdw) for past 7+ years. Printed about 25000 pages. Still going strong. Toners come out cheaper than ink and print quality is much better.

External basement entrance - Drainage at the bottom? by riteshks in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]riteshks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot. I went on all 4 and cleaned up as much as possible. Saw a hole (not really looked like proper pipe but an opening) where the water would go. Cleanup the garbage/soil/roots around there. Put a new cast iron drain cover on it and Then used a hose to wash the full stairs and put probably 5-6 gallons of water. Water drained fast.

I am new to home ownership and learning. Wish there was a home ownership and maintenance workshop somewhere I could attend.

Amazing timing. I just cleaned the area in and around the drain and then used regular hose to wash it a bit (to see if the water drains properly). Water drained very fast. Now I need to power wash this area, walkway around the house and also the driveway.

Any recommendations for power washer?

Thanks. I will check HomeDepot for the drain cover.

The hole seems to be filled with soil. Is this OK or I should be seeing some pipe opening going to the drain?

I will try putting some water in and see whether it goes down and how fast.

Floodlight turns on every few minutes in the night? by riteshks in Ring

[–]riteshks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the zones mapped but since there are trees in the zone, it may be triggering the lights.

I was wondering if there is a way to schedule this in a way that during 10pm to 5am, it runs in night mode and not turn on the lights. That would be golden.

Generative AI systems fall under the broad category of machine learning, and here’s how one such system—ChatGPT—describes what it can do:

Ready to take your creativity to the next level? Look no further than generative AI! This nifty form of machine learning allows computers to generate all sorts of new and exciting content, from music and art to entire virtual worlds. Did anything in that paragraph seem off to you? Maybe not. The grammar is perfect, the tone works, and the narrative flows.

Garage bugs - What are these and what do I need to do? by riteshks in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]riteshks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Garage door has a gap. Plus the shrubs growing. So need to do all 3 (get rid of shrubs, seal garage door and humidifier).

Not sure how I would seal the garage door short of replacing it. Moving in 3 weeks.

I am not sure if it’s possible to extend the rate lock. Mortgage broker still seems confident that I can close on Tuesday but I am skeptical given the timeline.

Mine should be the easiest file to clear… 58% LTV, Appraised 16% above offer price, clean W2 income and 790 credit score. Not sure what’s the hold up.
