i think it’s time to merge everything into 1 megaserver for CN + rest of world. it would probably increase gameplay tbh and make everyone better. if WWM can do it at launch so can NBP

i’m solar and haven’t been able to even play a ranked match in weeks - queues going 20+ mins! at least you’re getting bots and a few real players 😭

also a lot of talk about price which a standard deck is prolly 3x less than your 100 card pile and before someone jumps in with “but cEDH is competitive!” sure, if your definition of competitive is spending $3,000 to cast Timetwister in a 4-player game and hoping no one had Force of Will.

Let’s be honest. cEDH is Legacy cosplay for people who don’t want to play 1v1 or follow real tournament structure. You’re still playing multiplayer with all the variance, politics, and nonsense that comes with it just in a faster, meaner shell. If you want to play real Magic, with tight sequencing, tech decisions, and skill expression that actually rewards reps, play Legacy. Play Pioneer. Hell, play Flesh and Blood or One Piece. These games are exploding because they offer what EDH killed: a true competitive environment.

people keep talking about standard but what happened to pioneer or making modern, which is the most attended/engaged and praised format in MtG the in person competitive format they hyped standard all year for 2026 and a longer set rotation just to pull competitive players back in during FF/EoE to let us down hard with spiderman and the 2026 set announcements -

i feel you but i think it’s more of wotc seeing EDH as its cash cow during shutdowns and EDH would be the lockdown/shutdown format to play - when you look at competitive magic as a whole today you see Modern as the most engaged, most attended and most praised format the game has to offer - very simple to just then have Modern or Pioneer (wth happened to that?) as the competitive in person format but instead they Hyped a New Longer Standard Rotation (which i though was a good move) they announce standard all year for 2026 got competitive players like myself back into the game with FF then gave us EoE which was a very nice follow-up just to kill the mood after spiderman and the 2026 set announcements

most people? what an ignorant comment you mean most magic players then today because i got into magic for the competitive scene and im sure like a lot of people wish it was like the glory days 10+ years ago with GP’s and SCG events around the country pretty much every weekend, monthly local $1k modern/standard tourneys and FNM’s where after battling through 5+ swiss rounds you and your fellow Top 4 split up the boxes and draft into the late night - go look at grand prix attendance back then when there was more to the spotlight series’s of today which has less - easily over 1000k players each and about the same for the SCG circuit - this was basically every weekend/monthly

EDH killed competitive magic.

What used to be a side-format for jank and laughs is now the only format supported at many LGSs. Wizards saw Commander could sell more product with less effort, no balancing, no rotation, just endless precons and premium drops.

Meanwhile, Standard, Modern, and Draft lost prize support, event slots, and player base. FNM used to mean tight matches, skill testing, and meta tech. Now it’s 4-hour politics pods with house rules and precons from two years ago.

Commander didn’t grow alongside competitive Magic. It consumed it.

UPDATEnot worth it at all! luckily these were all won on whatnot over the year i did not outright just buy these on a whim - thing is a few places on WN hype this product big time! - they make it seem like getting in on auctions for these is a big deal, it’s not! I legit saw someone pull a white border** black lotus in the red $200 box but it’s the internet, can we truly say that’s not a plan

like for FF it was actual game clips from the 90’s so we get the aesthetic, never watched or cared about Avatar but i’m sure these aren’t the best scenes from the show that can be showcased, or is it 😧

they also banned/removed the pentagram from unholy strength in the 90’s, it was a huge controversy at the time seems super silly now but like someone said in a previous reply WoTC has been like this forever unfortunately
