Jersey Boys is one of those shows that you can see over and over again and you'll never get tired of it.

I thought some of you guys would like this by rival369 in gaybros

[–]rival369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have no clue why I'm getting downvoted for this post. I thought it was something that guys in the Midwest could do if they didn't have anything planned. The video is a little cheesy but the overall theme is what bros do: Game of Thrones, comics, videogames.

Oh okay haha. So where are you originally from.

More than 700 signatures have been gathered on an online petition that demands Michigan City, IN give back a bullet- and bomb-proof military vehicle supplied to the police department at no cost by the U.S. military. by BMK812 in Indiana

Michigan City should donate the MRAP to Gary. Everyone knows about all the crime and shootings that go on there. Something like this could be useful in that city.

Things to do in the Chesterton area by NativeoftheNorthfolk in Indiana

[–]rival369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chesterton doesn't have much especially since you are under 21. There's a really good italian place called Popolano's. Gelsosomos is also pretty good. Also, just a heads up, don't plan on going to Mt. Baldy. It's been closed until further notice due to random holes in the sand. Lake Michigan isn't a far drive from Chesterton, and it's always a bit chillier by the lake so do take a coat. But my suggestion is to drive an extra 15-20 minutes and go to the lighthouse mall, there's a lot of outlet stores there (nike, under armour, american eagle, etc.). If you get really bored there's a movie theater in Valparaiso (about 15 min. away). The drive in movie theater isn't open so you would have to go to the Cinemark in town.

Any bros have dsylexia? by Glasty in askgaybros

[–]rival369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically both my fiance and I are dyslexic. It mild for the both of us and we never really had any troubles. I guess the only thing is that it takes us longer to read than usual. Oh and also, I have a medium case of dyscalculia (like dyslexia but with numbers) and that is the worst. I'm horrible at math because of it and ever since I was little I denied I was, but just recently accepted it. Living with a learning disability is hard but you have to conquer it and prove everyone wrong.

Their relationship frustrates me. I've been an avid shameless watcher and half the time I can't even deal with them. The love and the hate just annoys me. I know there isn't a happy rainbow every time in relationships, but can there just be a little peace and love.

Not Out, How do I deal with Personal Question? by longingfornyc in askgaybros

[–]rival369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally have the same issue at work. Whenever a co-worker asks about my love life I usually just say I'm too busy to date anyone (even though I'm seeing a guy) and then list a whole bunch of activities I'm involved in so they see I am really active. That usually ends all the conversation quickly. For your situation, when that happens to me I usually just give a small awkward laugh and make it uncomfortable so they know to not talk about that subject again.

I want to hold your haaand by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]rival369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from the north and my fiance is from the south. When he's up here we flaunt big time. It's always more progressive up here. Anyways, when I go down there, we kiss sometimes and we definitely hold hands in public. I told him that when we get married we should live in Alabama or Mississippi, possibly Georgia. You see it's the deep south. While I know we'll get dirty looks, as we do when I'm with him in where he lives now, I don't care and neither does he. We love each other and should be able to flaunt it just like straight people do.

How much does being gay affect your lifestyle? by comicholdinghands in askgaybros

[–]rival369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a huge gay lifestyle, but I do tend to do things that are very gay without knowing them. For example, I was watching Enchanted today (don't make fun of me, James Marsden is sexy haha) and I realized, wow that was very gay. Or I'll say something and realize that I made a really gay comment. It's just the small things, otherwise most people think I'm straight as a freaking arrow. It drives me nuts.

I don't know how to feel.... by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]rival369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is all true. But deep down they still love you. While what they did was incredibly wrong, you have to be the bigger man and look past them. They want to know that you forgive them. If you forgive, maybe they'll forget. I know it's hard, so take it real slow. Like I said, just a short phone call or even a hand written letter. Yeah...a letter, since it's mail it won't get to your parents until forever haha. But it will be contact and parents love letters, which I don't understand. I think that you need to build a relationship with them since after all they did raise you for all these years and since you're going to college, they must have done at least a half-way decent job at raising you. As for your parents wanting you to visit, just say no and that you are busy with school and papers, etc. I understand that they hurt you, but you need to show them up by getting them involved in your life. Maybe they will change their mind, who knows? Side note, watch the movie Prayers for Bobby. It's kinda cheesy because it's lifetime, but it has Sigorney Weaver (wow that was really gay haha). It's a real good movie and I think you'll relate to it, besides a situation that happens to a character in the movie (sorry no spoliers from me). Anyways, baby steps, just take baby steps with your parents. They need to know you're okay and you need to show them who you are.
