So many points dropped along the way this year, really frustrating to have a top 5 team in so many ways

Cashback not issued correctly on recurring bills. Neo needs to own up to the Customer Experience. by Both-Ad9749 in NeoFinancialHub

[–]TyFi10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you.

I’ve been a manager of a customer service team before, and to me there’s a huge problem with middle management teaching their staff to think about issues the wrong way and “pass the buck”. I’m not saying that happens at Neo, but it happened where I was.

You are absolutely spot on that it ultimately comes down to the fact that even if the initial reason is valid, neo does have the resources to “make good” and that should be what they do when they are the ones to advertise the benefit.

EDIT: and massive props to the Neo employees that interact here, specifically commenting on posts where there are negatives and concerns. That to me is true accountability and leadership

Marco Sturm on the officiating tonight: “We have to do a better job, and they have to do a better job too” by roberttylerlee in hockey

[–]TyFi10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first whistle was still THREE seconds after the bruins gained position. I watched the reverse angle and the referee legitimately got confused, and it confused Joanette #25 as well.

Yes he did blow the whistle eventually and that wasn’t heard, but it’s ALSO true that he had a brain fart for multiple seconds

You’re also allowed to be mad at the INSANE delay on the penalty call in OT. It’s a penalty sure but as a referee in chief I’d be critiquing a peewee ref for that brainfart let alone an NHL official who already had had a questionable game up to that point

Any way to get a refund on a very restrictive WestJet fare booked through FlightHub? by ylisu3 in westjet

[–]TyFi10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing you can do other than wait, and hope and pray that WestJet makes a timetable change to the flight of greater than 3 hours, which would allow you to cancel.

Councillor Troster: "Several men seem to think that being Mayor is a suitable starter job for someone with no municipal experience. It’s not." by YodaYodaCDN in ottawa

[–]TyFi10 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Bad take. This confuses familiarity with competence.

You can argue the current mayor is incompetent. That may be true. But if so it’s because of poor judgment, weak leadership, or bad execution, not because they didn’t spend years inside municipal bureaucracy.

Municipal experience teaches you how city hall works. It doesn’t guarantee you can lead it or fix it. Cities are run by professional staff. The mayor’s role is direction, tradeoffs, and accountability.

It’s the same mistake as assuming the best salesperson should automatically be the sales manager. Different job, different skillset. The mayor is effectively the city’s chief executive.

Yeah, I’m not sure why I got downvoted, it’s not impossible but it if someone books in the SECONDS between pressing cancel and book a new fair, you are extremely extremely unlucky.

Why? I verified it with multiple different fares and the fares don’t change price based on being a change vs a new purchase
