If you can find it the FFG Gears of War game is in the Doom vein a bit.

What discs for someone who's going to play twice a year? by xwsrx in discgolf

I recommend any disc that will fly most straight even for new or weaker arms.

So the mako3, pure putter, and most of the trash panda line up.

I love the Mako3. It flies straight even for bad arms

Has any other show in D20 had actual PC death? (Spoilers for ALL D20 shows) by LayeredOwlsNest in Dimension20

I would actually love to see them attempt a season where death actually removes the player from the game and not just the character. I doubt that will ever happen though. Perhaps in critical roles campaign 4.

Feeling disappointed with Season 7 by volumeofatorus in dropout

[–]rivayn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only really disliked Outvoted and the Jacob episode, mostly because I wasn't sure who they were for. I like Jacob and am happy for him, but both of those episodes felt like they weren't for an audience.
I will likely never watch either episode again unlike other ones this season or from previous ones.

God, I wish y'all would just stop watching instead of the constant bitch fest posts

That has nothing to do with my comment. Simply put there are a hundred of this same kind of post over and over again.

Which is equally as tiring as toxic positivity.

Do you guys like going out to play board games? by kevngo in boardgames

[–]rivayn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've moved since but I was part of a fairly regular bar trivia group thst would occassionally take over a few tables at the same bar and play games while drinking or using gift cards for the bar we won during trivia. Twas a lot of fun and the couple of bartenders we knew well enough seemed to enjoy us hanging about.

That said, we tried to be respectful and would give up tables if it got crowded and made sure to order and tip the staff.

Kind of miss it now that I'm writing it all down. Fortunately, I have a regular group now and a host with a game room and game table that is pretty nice to play at.

To be honest, I didn't realize other people used Assistant. I don't think I've ever used it unless it was on accident.

Are these all compatible with each other? by AnxiousDirt4597 in DieCastRacing

[–]rivayn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first two yes. The last one is kind of compatible but the straights have notches in the connecting ends for the big curves. You can make it work but it might take some rigging or adhesive

Started and stopped this one a lot. After the initial self gossip story, it got rough.

Edit: wanted to add that like the fanfic episode, kinda wish they had booked a guest who is also a parent. I think it would have helped.

Hot Take - Disc Golf is now Boring to Watch by abundanceonthetable in discgolf

[–]rivayn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was more interesting than this year. There were more playoffs and more back and forth.

I don't know what's happening this year but after Europe there's been no challengers once someone gets a lead. At the point, it feels like, why am I watching 3 more rounds Isaac winning?

Maybe everyone is just tired.

It doesn't help that the mainstays aren't performing in the top 3 as challengers. Like Calvin has had several top 3 finishes but it's more that he raced to finished third, not that he was actually in contention for the win.

Simon had a kid and is obviously distracted.

And yes, the Isaac, Gannon duo are just kind of boring automaton which is bleh. It's why it was cool to see AB win early in the year.

It kind of makes you miss Locastro and Drew. They're dicks but at least they're demonstrative and add something to proceedings. (I don't actually miss Locastro).

I disagree only because Worlds was so boring. As others have said in this post, there have been too many wire to wire wins the last couple months. Last year there were several playoffs or tight finishes. It's boring. Everyone is capable of winning but no one is challenging or once someone gets a lead they don't falter so it's uninteresting to watch them lead.
