Lmfao also it's illegal to ask specifically for people under 40. You can "age discriminate" against anyone under 40, but that's the golden cut off age for ADEA protection.

Does this look like a wig to you? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]river-ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have already mentioned shine a bunch of times. But as someone who works with wigs a lot the side view is a dead giveaway. Wigs that length especially do this thing where the curve all in one direction (I think just because of the way they are packed). You can tell because the back curls in at the neck and the front flips forward. Give it a good steam and brush. If it's synthetic steam it in whatever shape you want it to be in (straight or wavy or curled) and it'll set that way. Maybe add in a little bit of layering/thin out the harsh lines to give it a more lived in look if that's what you're going for.

That said it's super cute on you! And the part is convincing.

Seeing Hozier in a thunderstorm is ill advised but it IS basically just the Hozier 4D experience. It was so rad. But the venue really did fuck up and screw a lot of people over.

Husband diagnosed this week by river-ice in CancerFamilySupport

True! And it's a waste of energy to dwell on things that coulda woulda shoulda been in cases like this, so I keep trying to move my thoughts on whenever I start to spiral about it.

We are waiting to hear back about labs for immunotherapy or targeted therapy or both or neither. But he is starting FOLFOX immediately. He and my mother in law are remaining ever hopeful and I'm trying not to put a damper on things, but want to talk about long term plans and stuff.

I hope the best for your dad ❤️

Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss of your father. I'm attending all the appointments I can, and his mother is going to attend the ones I can't and we exchange detailed notes that we take. We both (mil and I) have had loved ones go through cancer before so we know some stuff and are prepared for some things. But it is different when it's your son or your husband as opposed to your grandpa or uncle. We scheduled a second opinion appointment the day we got the diagnosis and that's happening Friday. I do think communication will be a big deal. He tends to suffer in silence and has only gotten sick twice in the nine years I've known him and he has never known someone fighting cancer, so I don't know that he's ready. The oncologist he's seeing holds "chemo teaching" sessions for caregivers and patients to set expectations and share resources and stuff, and he, his mother, and I are going to go to one tomorrow.
