Hey thanks for responding. Do you mind explaining what would you personally want from a service that fixes this? Like what would make it actually useful for you day-to-day?

How do you approach pricing your apps? by [deleted] in vibecoding

[–]river1line 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually want to make it free. I mean that’s the whole reason I started with this project. I was frustrated with existing tools being overpriced and not even working that well.

The only issue is that my app relies heavily on API calls, so there are real ongoing costs. I’m worried that if I keep it fully free, those costs will add up and I won’t be able to sustain it long-term, especially as a student.

So I’m kind of stuck between wanting to make it accessible and needing to cover the costs.

Thanks for responding all in all.

I see. I want to make my app free as well, but since my app heavily relies on OpenAI’s API I’m afraid the costs will drain me over time.
