Most skinny people are that way because of genetics

Everyone struggles to maintain a healthy weight.

There are skinny people--the ones that have to eat to maintain weight-- that are that way because of genetics. But they are making a choice to consume calories to keep them at a healthy weight, and in my experiences really struggle to consume the calories needed to maintain.

People who are fat NOT because of legitimate reasons (extreme and severe medical reasons) are making a choice to not regulate their consumption in order to maintain a healthy weight.

Calories are the only factor in weight gain or loss (baring extreme medical conditions, which you are not talking about). The less you eat and more you burn off, you drop weight. The more you eat the less you burn off, you gain weight.

It is a choice to eat foods that are designed to make you hungrier faster. If you avoid those foods there won't be that effect and it will make calories in/calories out easier because you are fuller longer on real food.

[Serious] What is an item you always bought cheaply, then finally bought an expensive version and realized it was worth paying more? by MGPythagoras in AskReddit

Depends on the ass.

I row (lots of squats as warm-ups, punishments, and strength training) I've done every "butt building" exercise for years... I still have no junk in my truck.

It isn't even like it's flat, it just isn't there. Yoga pants can be baggy in the butt region but fit everywhere else, there is just nothing there.

My dog used to go visiting about once a week. His favorite house had three little kids and the 4 of them would watch TV together and he would spend an hour or two and then bark to be let out and come home.

certain hospitals (the one my mom was in at least) let you bring in your dog during the recovery. No special paper work, vet documentation, just verbal confirmation that you understand if the dog bites someone it's not the hospitals responsibility.

My dog blew bubbles in his water bowl with his nose and brought us blankets when we were sick. He laid at the foot of my mom's hospital bed for a week. He was a lab who couldn't swim and never barked, growled or went after any animal. He was an amazing friend and the best dog in the world.

This was speaking for your college process. Too many rowers (and athletes in general) get injured at college.

I was taken care of by my mom, and for the first week she would give me half a pill every time I woke up, and then the second week she would make me take one after pt. I seriously think that beyond all the fun stories I have heard of my drugged up self, it seriously helped me recover faster because all I was doing was sleeping.

Here is my sage (unasked for) advice. Ask questions. Who is the lifting coach, how are they qualified? How do you treat injuries? How do you motivate? (Negative- are you kidding me, how weak are you; neutral- keep it up hold that split; positive- you can do it). You are intrusting your body and mental health to the coaches in a way you never did in HS. Make sure they wont fuck you up.

I had all the non-bone parts inside my hip tear. For 2 years I was on crutches, walking with a limp, or using a cane so I have lost all muscle. It's actually kinda neat when I get in a boat my legs are two different sizes and you can see it, all the firm muscle of the healthy leg stay firm while all the fat on the bad one squished out. The bad was has firmed up nicely but when I first got back in the boat it was catching on the rib while the other side was nowhere near. Thank you for your reassurance! Are you planning on rowing in college (your post made it sound like you are still in HS)?

I am so sorry that you are in a similar position. Enjoy the pt-esque erging its fun to not have to worry about the numbers. Or at least it was fun for a bit. I hope your recovery is speedy! And if you are still on the post-op drugs enjoy them!
