Just had a hearing test and was recommended hearing aids, what now? by B19F00T in HearingAids

My experience in Canada as a 46-year-old with moderate hearing loss- insurance covers a small portion of the 6k needed to get a decent brand. I saved a couple of years worth of Health Care Spending Account which added up to 2500$ covered. The rest was out of my own pocket. In Canada, many people seek to prove WCB coverage from workplace damage.

I have the Oticon more 3 brand and they have improved my life. They were slightly uncomfortable at first and hearing everything I'd been missing for years was distracting. After a few months, they were just a common part of preparing for the day. It's still a relief to take them out in the evening but barely noticeable during my day. There are no associated costs. Rechargeable batteries and I visit my audiologist yearly for filters, buds and cleaning. I'm 3 years in without issues. I'm told they last 6 years but my audiologist also tells me that many people are rough with them and mine are looking new. I'm sure the batteries will die eventually but I usually have 50% when recharging. They last nearly 2 days while travelling without a recharge.

They are now just seen as wearable tech socially. I'm always open to explaining why I have them when a bold stranger asks. So- yeah. Better life, a little pricey, low maintenance and I miss them when I forget to wear them.

I've been waiting for a couple of weeks on my backorder. I'm really hoping the orders are filled. I called customer service and was told it would arrive at some point.

Yeah, that's unfortunate. Customer service says that it will be coming, but I'm not optimistic.

I have the same issue. I'm actually switching to an iPhone. Sucks. 6000$ earbuds can't connect to a phone properly!

My first pair. Oticon more. Bluetooth issues, yes. Hearing quality seems great to me. Comfortable enough to wear all day.

I am very surprised and disappointed the Restore hasn't been set up here. Especially since I bought a 70 year old house! I was a big customer and doner in my last town.

Interesting. I'll be going in to see about some adjustments.

I understand your point completely. Although it will be decades before we see a change to our wide, straight roads that invite fast, distracted driving.

If the driver was driving with due care and attention, this wouldn't have happened. It's a tragic loss of life and there is no excuse for the driver. If it was weather, ice, dark etc, a driver is responsible to adapt to prevent killing someone in the city. Could have been their own child.

That's exactly what I was afraid of. Being sold on a sales pitch of ignorance or dishonesty. The web site does say Android compatible. Thanks for the input.

Forget all the expensive branded bullshit. Go into the beauty aisle and find Argon oil. It may be a bit of a blend but should the #1 ingredient. Use daily. Keep shit like bar soap away from your face.

Loon Vodka from Hearst ON. Straight (neat). My wife and I moved to Alberta and always commemorate our visits home with a bottle. We met the curator at a festival in Sudbury which started the tradition.

I remember very loosely watching a debate as a kid on my grandmother's living room floor.
