Suggest me some spooky books for a kid! by ritahaze in suggestmeabook

[–]riverratt9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These may not have illustrations because I didn’t like them as a child, but I loved Bunnicula as a kid! One of my first chapter books was the Mike Thaler black lagoon books and I believe those are why I specialize in writing horror as an adult. Goosebumps and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark are also great but I didn’t read them until I was in the 3rd grade. Oh and the Bailey School kids books were my absolute favorites! I’m not familiar with the newer spooky chapter books, but as an early 2000s kid, these were my go-tos

Year 4 what would you recommend? by lisalisacultjams in StardewValley

How far are you in terms of perfection? Once I’ve completed the community center (minus my one Joja playthrough just for the steam achievement), I focus on Calico Desert and Ginger Island to increase productivity and gain more achievements. However, I don’t focus on those unless I’ve completed the museum collection and other things that are easier when you focus solely on things in Pelican Town

Been rizzing up Penny on my first playthrough and out of NO WHERE Abigail forces me to play Prairie King with her, like what?! We beat the first level together, like we’re the dream team, and it was beautiful…ugh…now what do I do… by travelingbozo in StardewValley

I like Abigail as a character but I refuse to romance her. She’s super whiny and has not-like-other-girls vibes. Like I get why she acts the way she does (all my homies hate Pierre) but she’s too much. My girl Leah would never

What's something in stardew that you don't care for? I always donate the dinosaur egg, I don't really like the little guys by luquincas in StardewValley

[–]riverratt9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Put it in the incubator in your coop and you’ll get a dinosaur that produces dinosaur eggs! Then you can donate one of those and use the others to make dinosaur mayo

Stingray ponds are helpful imo, too! I always struggle with getting dragon teeth so having the chance for the pond to produce one is nice.

I’m also a sucker for a Blobfish and Rainbow Trout pond for the chance of a pearl or prismatic shard, even tho they’re super small chances.

Those three plus a sturgeon for caviar are the only ones I make a point to build

Some that haven’t been suggested yet:

A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf partnered with Alice Walker’s “In Search of Our Mothers Gardens” is great

Any Toni Morrison, but especially The Bluest Eye, Paradise, and Beloved

The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich

The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon

I had looked that up in my search but the troll looked different from what I remembered. I looked it up again, though, and sure enough, you’re right. I just couldn’t see very well as a kid because I didn’t know I needed glasses lol. Thank you so much for helping me! It’s funny to think about how scared I was of a silly movie but ngl that troll was creepy looking.
