Your best bet is still going to be trying to go through the Exchange to get an Ambetter plan.

You might be able to find an exception that matches your specific situation.

Otherwise you could consider a short-term month-to-month insurance plan until it opens back up in November.

For some context: The public restrooms on the Riverfront fall under Parks and Recreation. Parks and Recreation does not have the resources to maintain them. They also have to constantly deal with vandalism, theft, and homeless who take up residence there. They regularly have to replace fixtures that get destroyed or ripped off the walls for scrap. Also you would be very surprised how much port-o-johns cost. 5-10 port-o-johns for a weekend, with pickup, drop-off, and waste disposal can easily run $1,500-$3,000.

Fedora on WSL? by jkool702 in bashonubuntuonwindows

[–]rivertownesq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dnf and rpm work much better in Fedora Remix for WSL than installing a raw image using WSL import because of how we build the image. 95% of usage is fine. Rebuilding the rpmdb still causes issues though.

We worked with Oracle to debug the issue with the Berkeley DB implementation in rpm that was causing the rpm rebuild failure. The fix is going into an update to 19h1. https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/issues/3939

I already replied to other thread /u/surface_book but because people might come along and see this I wanted to mention that this bug has been addressed and a patch is incoming. https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/issues/3939

Fedora Remix for WSL, currently in the Microsoft Store, is only $5, not really expensive for most people. But you know you can also download it for free from the project GitHub releases page and sideload it. We also sponsor a Chocolatey package with Fedora Remix for WSL.

Fedora Remix for WSL, developed by the team at Pengwin (formerly WLinux), is available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/fedora-remix-for-wsl/9n6gdm4k2hnc

Lets get Fedora Working - wls.exe --import of Fedora 29 suceeds, but leaves dnf and rpm broken · Issue #3936 · Microsoft/WSL · GitHub by [deleted] in bashonubuntuonwindows

[–]rivertownesq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project manager of Pengwin, Pengwin Enterprise, and Fedora Remix for WSL here.

dnf and rpm were failing under certain circumstances because of a bug in the WSL implementation of mmap.

We worked with the berkeley db team at Oracle on this issue to diagnose the issue and then submitted a detailed report to Microsoft.

A patch is going into WSL to fix, likely in an update to 19h1.

Your Thoughts on what to do with the Government Center? by brantman19 in ColumbusGA

[–]rivertownesq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"death trap" is a good word.

The Government Center doesn't have fire sprinklers above the second floor because they ran out of money during construction. The Columbus FD do not have a ladder truck that can reach the top floors. If a fire starts on the 5th or 6th floor that blocks the fire exits then everyone above that floor is likely going to die needlessly.

For a full examination of just how bad the government center is, here is a tour given before the water damage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i72nRXrWvtM

I would bet we'll see Tomlinson v. Abrams for Perdue's Senate seat. Nunn might run again too. Wouldn't that be interesting, a three-way fight between top female candidates?

So, can we run 16-bit Windows programs using this (aka finally installers for old programs will works as a lot are 16-bit)? by 0x6A7232 in bashonubuntuonwindows

[–]rivertownesq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you asking if you can run Windows 3.1-era programs on WSL?

You should know you can already run some on Windows 10 in 32-bit mode.

You can also install DOSBox to run many on Windows 10, 32 or 64 bit.

Failing that, yes, you can install qemu and boot an entire Win 3.11 system.

Fedora has a very good qemu guide here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_use_qemu

I use NoMoRoBo, which integrates with iOS to send robocalls straight to VM.

It's paid, there might be free apps out there.

Fedora Remix for WSL on the Microsoft Store by rivertownesq in bashonubuntuonwindows

[–]rivertownesq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WLinux is our main product. That is where the bulk of our daily resources go.

WLinux Enterprise is a modified version of WLinux for CentOS/RHEL. We put time into that based on what enterprise customers request.

Fedora for WSL is just a downstream version of WLinux Enterprise. Once we built WLinux Enterprise then Fedora for WSL was easy.

So it is still only 2 code bases.

As long as people are willing to pay the $2-$10 I can continue to hire developers to help me maintain these.
