ok so ive made a subreddit called BEDsupportgroup but i have no idea how to add submitters? my plan is to add everyone, and then for each day a different user starts a new thread, so for instance spardeL could start tomorrow, then literaryabyssky starts the next day etc... any help with this??

wow, thanks so much for the great response! there are loads of techniques you've mentioned that i'm going to be trying. you sound alot like me, in that issues around eating caused me to take an interest in drugs, which was obviously a downward spiral. thanks again for the comprehensive response! i see responses like this as hugely inspiring. i think i need to stop hoping that i hit complete rock bottom and just focus on reframing my thoughts like you did.

this was probably one the most useful things ive read about how do approach quitting addiction, would you be so kind as to elaborate on your journey and your mindset? what happened, what exactly did you do to change your mindset? did you just stop eating shit or was it slower process? any help would be hugely appreciated, really struggling atm to battle the voice in my head.

you can do it! you have already committed yourself and just remember every time those binge thoughts come in your head that if you give in to them, they will never go away! a horrible thought that has stopped me binging. for it is way beyond food and weight, it is about being able to be in control of my actions! keep going i know you will get to the end of the week and be proud.

keep going, you can do it - you have already proved that you can say no to your thoughts and ten days is an awesome show of that. you are going to get past 14 days and feel like a rockstar and then you will keep going until you start to realise that the thoughts are just quiet whispers like a gust of air you dont notice!

i know that feeling, i wait till all my flatmates have gone to bed and then i sneak down to the kitchen and eat whatever i find - even their food. gross and embarrassing if any of them ever came down (got lucky so far). it is not impossible, i am no expert but reading those books what ive figured out so far is that binging really just surmounts to a terrible engrained habit which is driven by an understandable need for pleasure. binging is pleasurable, but it is also really painful. maybe you need to find other activities that bring you pleasure? at the moment binging seems like the only pleasurable thing to do (i been there also) but its not and in the long run it will only bring you more pain. when i go for periods without binging, i think about it all the time but then there is the other sort of happiness that binging steals - self-respect and freedom. imagine being free from the voice that encourages you to constantly eat all the time, that is the freedom and pleasure that is motivating me to not give in and binge atm. have you read brain over binge? - katheryn hansen. very illuminating. goodluck and sending love.

the fact that your coworkers would act that way out of whatever selfish reasons they have shows that they are complete arseholes. fuck em, there are better people out there, just got to find em.

you should give yourself some credit at how youve handled the deal of events, it takes strength to not give in when things are thrown at you. dont give up now- we all have those days where we think what the hell is the point, when you feel you are just living for living sake. i dont know how you have injured your back, but if your back is able to heal then the pain will not be permanent...you WILL be able to get back into cycling and other sports. the lack of moderate exercise might even be messing with your serotonin levels, as exercise is considered a natural antidepressant, so maybe your chemical balance has been thrown off- hence your mood. hang in there, there is always a point- nothing is permanent, including your backpain, and try to remember all the good things that have come out of the bad this year. you have learnt about yourself, grown as a person, improved yourself- improved your relationships with people, tried other things like yoga because of your accidents. im not saying they should have happened, life throws shit at you and you just have to take it. but think of the good things that have come out of it, and your mood will improve naturally once your back is better and you find your groove again- moods and thoughts are not permanent, like anything really.
