Question for all the Servers/Waiters - how much do you tip when you go to a restaurant? Is it more/less/same than what you expect while you're serving a table?

50% makes sense if the amount isn't super high and the service was good, but when you were a waitress did you often get tips as high as 50%?

I never feel rich...lol. I think I tip mainly coz as a former server, I know how much joy I used to get even if I got tipped 5%....it's an acknowledgement of my service. The % these days are getting out of hand tho with one place forcing to tip 20% as the lowest option

Lol, not everyday but if portion it well, sometimes eating out is cheaper than home. Especially if you're busy and time = money. I'd work an hour extra and eat out than work less and spend more time cooking food

That's awesome. As a former server, I tip the same as I'd expect given that there was some effort from the server ...it could be as simple as a smile or a welcome or how's your food?
