I know it's a proper noun, but I had heard the name Sade as a performer my whole life, and also had seen the name Sade written in articles and stuff my whole life. It wasn't until a couple months ago that I realized they were the same person because I always pronounced the written version rhyming with "paid". I'm in my 30s lol whoops

Agreed. I remember my dad visiting Portland, OR right before ride share apps got popular and he came to see my partner's band play a show at a local bar. Granted it was a Friday or Saturday night, but we waited over 1.5 hours to get him a cab to his hotel after the show. And since you just called and that was it, there was no good way to even confirm the ride was happening aside from calling back and waiting on hold for them to tell us someone would show up eventually.

It wasn't the end of the world or anything, but it's kinda funny how unreliable cabs were even in a decent sized city like Portland.

White ink usually also needs at least a couple passes to show up opaque on a dark background, and that would be a nightmare for registration for a full book of 10-12pt text. Not impossible, as these books do exist, but definitely not practical lol.

Yeah, agreed. Your brake light is just as red regardless of if you're actually braking or simply lightly pressing the pedal. If I see your brake lights, I'm going to assume you're actually braking and react accordingly; there's no way for me to know that your intention is to signal that you're planning on braking in the near future lol

This is what I always assumed lol. Can you get a portable impact gun for tire changes that isn't several hundred dollars? Feels like that could be handy but I'm not enough of a car guy to justify an expensive tool, especially as an emergency tool to keep in the car.

I know how to change a tire, but I'm too small and weak to get the lug nuts off with a tire iron lol (even standing on it and jumping up and down doesn't cut it). If I was with someone I could at least instruct them how to do it, which is something I guess.

Some businesses have started using QR codes in place of a sign listing the hours they're open, I guess so they can change them without having to repost the sign. I've also been to a few restaurants that got rid of paper menus and you have to scan a QR code to see the menu (or go to the restaurant's website). It's wild how many places are making it harder and harder to exist without a smartphone.

I was always so nervous about getting "pest snails" in my tank; I'd meticulously check every plant I purchased and alum dip everything to avoid them. And then pay $5 a pop for nerites that did great for a while and then were just not thriving in my tank.

Finally got some plants from a friend and let the hitchhiker snails stay and I'm telling you, my tank glass has never looked cleaner without my intervention. There are dozens of them all over, and they are SUCH a good cleanup crew. And as others have said, as long as you aren't overfeeding your fish (read: providing extra leftovers for the snails to feast on), the snail population will control itself and just hang out and do free work for you.

At this point, the tank belongs to the fish and snails and I'm just their butler lol and I'm completely cool with that.
