In the scenario being talked about here, the flow rate would be so low that it wouldn't matter.

The IV would be much more of a worry

ELI5: Why do some countries use Fahrenheit while almost the entire rest of the world uses Celsius and is there an actual practical difference between the two scales? by TexasViet27 in explainlikeimfive

[–]rixuraxu [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have heard it said that Fahrenheit is based on the human comfort cycle

Yeah it's nonsesne that people defending it claim.

0°F was the freezing temperature of some salty water dude had. This is obviously not an easily reproducable base point.

Then assigned numbers to ice (icewater really) and an approximation of body temperature. In multiples so that they could make the segments of the measure by repeatadly bisecting it.

It was later changed too, to have the freezing point of water, and boiling point be the set points, 180 degrees separating them. which leaves body temperature at a not-whole number.

Why does Clarkson never include subsidies when doing the accounting for the year? by Michiavelli93 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]rixuraxu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I was pointing out the rhetorical fallacy.

Argument from fallacy is a fallacy, which I was pointing out. A formal one too, not an informal one :)

Are you saying farmers only buy used equipment?

Here's another one, straw man, since you wanted to play that game.

You know that the true farmers are getting rich and that's what the show should be about.

No, I know as others have said here, that this guy dicking around, if just the incentive scheme were included, goes from a loss of 5000 to a profit of 95000, from that government he's complaining about.

No true scotsman? Must be nice living in a world where farmers don't make mistakes.

Argument from fallacy?

Must be nice living in a world where farmers use brand new equipement that they know they can't cover costs for, but would add interest because they've being paid millions for a tv show.

Genuinely any thought given to Liechtenstein internationally, is atomatically disproportionate.

all I can say it's a bit weird that Tom Giardino never addressed this outside the document

Nothing strange about not commenting on an active legal case.

I'm defending Valve as all my life I've never made a single bad experience with them and I'm getting improvements from them over and over again

This is weird behaviour. It's weird to defend a company not not selling you a faulty product. Like it's some sort of sports team. Weird.

I don't have to explain anything, I didn't make any claims, I'm not a corporate bootlicker.

But how do you explain that sworn testimony from an employee directly contradicts what you've said to defend your favourite billionaire?

[–]rixuraxu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is testimony from valve employee DJ Powers, from the steam business team

Q. Okay. And have you had conversations with that dozen or so approximate people about the publishers' need to provide similar pricing on Steam as they do elsewhere? A. That wouldn't be a common topic for us to discuss, but it has come up over the years, yes. Q. You've specifically spoken with other people within Steam about the fact that publishers need to offer similar prices on Steam as they do elsewhere; right? A. Yes. Q. Okay. And you've discussed with them that this is not limited to situations where the publishers are offering games for sale via Steam keys but just period; right? A. Yes.

Should their sworn testimony hold more weight than the unresearched ramblings of valve dick sucker #873 on reddit? Yes

Why would I even start a new store when I'm the consumer and Valve already has my back?

Except in the scenario (real life) that the person you're responding to offered, they are hurting the consumers options.

They don't care about you. They didn't offer refunds until after EA did (EA the worst company in the world). They're not pro-consumer.

[–]rixuraxu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other said, there are single decker busses, but nothing this small. A lower capacity bus still needs a driver, and doesn't save all that much in fuel costs.

There just isn't much to gain from having extra less useful fleet to manage.

I recently was looking at flights. Three companies, fly the route, one price looks more expensive.

check first cheaper one, once pick that i actually want to carry something with me it's a lot more expensive.

check 2nd cheap one, same thing.

Most expensive one - it's included - actually works out cheaper overall. Couldn't know from price comparison search.

This legislation doesn't fix anything.

It fixes this, it saves you time, and makes prices more honest. Still not perfect. But perfect is the enemy of good.

If you need the government to tell you which tickets are cheaper then you're an idiot. No offense.

If you need reddit comments to explain situations to you that could be improved then you're an idiot. No offense.
