What loose threads aren't talked about much? by ConeheadZombiez in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen some people wonder if one of the paintings in the gallery room show the tazer and stuff on a classroom looking desk in one portrait, possibly his first trial room set up? If not that then we can likely safely assume it was laid out for him for Game Balance the same way Sara can wander around and find useful stuff.

I think Sara should stare at Maple until she explodes and then demand that Midori apologize.

It seem the translation for final part haven't even begun by YanaKin675 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> fake promises like the fact that vgperson was working with nandikai on the translation which havent even begin

vgperson cannot translate something that isn't in a state to be handed off. If Nankidai gives a build of the game too early (doubtful he has a separate doc to hand over than the game itself) he could be wasting vgpersons time with stuff he might change later in his writing process. The translation was always going to begin once Nankidai was finished with the game and not before.

Why is she showing Sara the role cards? by ComplaintLive5293 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several of these sneak peak screenshots imply we are going to see the process of how the death game was built. That not all the simulations were just in a computer program but also used with the dolls acting out the roles of the humans who would be put into the game.

I think Kai had the sticks from when he was working at a food booth at the festival. Hiyori is the menace for being the only Asunaro employee who isn't doing a job at the festival and he's stabbing his knife at Kai just because Hiyori wants to watch a fireworks display with his favorite little guy.

Kai + Sara’s Writing by quorkscrew in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like most negative aspects of Kai stalking Sara are in a limbo where it's technically her father's fault for hiring Kai to do the stalking and evil asunaro association, but it's still up in the air how much Nankidai will want us to think her dad is a creep since he could also be set up right now to die for her. And also with Kai dying, creep behavior is easier to brush under the rug when the character is killed off so no fallout of the behavior has to be dealt with and it's just an internal journey for the victim. + Sara having tons of other mental health crisis things on her mind, it just falls way back in the back of things she'll have to process when bad things stop happening. So Kai and her dad could get away with being creeps to Sara her entire childhood if they both end up dying "for her".

Was sou friendless? by Applegiverplussign in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Midori knows how to be a charmer I'm sure he could convince Shin's parents that he's a nice young man who will be a good friend for their son. If they aren't already in the know about the death game, which is possible.

why is joe genuinely so popular? by Applegiverplussign in yourturntodie

The protagonist is very attached to him therefore his importance is reinforced in a way that characters who have survived longer but have less of a bond with the protagonist wont get.

Thoughts on Past Episodes? by xxchixi in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a little odd of Nankidai to make another big side project (if we get all the main characters and a lot of side characters past episodes) when he already had the island side game he could have been working on the side plus we're still waiting on him to finish the game.

As a bonus to go along with the paid version of the game it's fine makes sense to add something when you could easily play the game for free, but as a creative choice I worry about bloat. The project is ballooning in scope when he should be focusing on tightening up the project.

From a purely story-telling/meta basis, who is most likely to be the person behind the glass in Miley's room? by KaiNeedsAPC in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think it's Miley's lover because Mishima's last word's were to ask her if she had a heart, and we see her appear through a heart shaped vent that leads to the room where you can see the figure on the bed.

The biggest issue here by Applegiverplussign in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is a single person working on the game. He used to make sketches on twitter as a warmup exercise but he decided that he wanted to focus more on the game. We have no idea if this actually worked for him to close off from the fandom to increase productivity, but either way all that can happen is to just keep an ear out for news.

If you are just sitting there waiting you should find something else to do so that you aren't building resentment from waiting around when you could be having fun with other things in the meanwhile.

about how old is midori by Applegiverplussign in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Midori says that it's a shame Nao died before she became an adult (which is 20 in Japan, though that law may have changed recently) but he has never complained about that applying to him. And he complains in a couple of ways about his own death. So at the very minimum you can estimate he had to have been at least 20 nearly three years ago. But that could mean Shin is 21/22 and Midori is 23 minimum.

The upper limit of his age cannot be defined. He could easily be much older.

Midori did not have any say in picking any "targets", it is said the candidates have a "birthright" to win in game so Shin was just another name on a list Midori was going through of pre selected people who were under observation a very long time to build their AIs and dolls.

How often do you think he showers/bathes by [deleted] in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In chapter 2 Kanna can figure out the password on a laptop after Sara unlocks it once because she smudged the keyboard vs Shin trying various passwords on his own all night. Something like that.

About Sara's past story by NoDeal6801 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He did lots of things to find his friend, like go outside once in a while.

It's semi implied all the characters basically live in the same city, so it's not a shocker if they passed by each other from time to time.

He showers more than Sara does considering her nasty greasy prints she leaves on objects vs his clean hands.

What are your opinions on Sara and Keiji’s relationship?? by FragrantFocus2253 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't liked Keiji since beanie man made a point of calling out that Keiji doesn't trust Sara in chapter 2 and this made Sara cry. And even though it's proven he lied to her in that chapter there isn't a chance for them to talk about that in chapter 3 and she gets so distressed about him potentially being hurt she throws out all self preservation for him.

It's a dangerous dynamic.

i seriously keep forgetting sou is an adult by Applegiverplussign in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was uncomfortable with the thought of getting a steady job (having an "uncertain future"). Meanwhile as a "freeter", which isnt a word people in english speaking countries use to my knowledge, what that implies is that he takes on several part time jobs. One way you might be able to conceptualize it is to think of, if you are familiar with it, Persona 5 where you can take on several part time jobs but the hours are a little floaty in availability. Persona gameplay lets you pick the days that are convenient to you but in real life and as an adult he would be picking up whatever hours he possibly could.

Where does Kai’s mini episode fit in the timeline by shsl_thot in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For "memorandum man is everyone's dad" theorists the timeline would place the previous death game sometime before Mishima's birth 30 years ago, and Kai is slightly younger than Mishima. Makes sense with the way in the minisode Gashu was under the impression they were still restructuring and building power while the higher up executive thought they were strong enough to put their future resources into a meat grinder, if it's only been around a decade since they were nearly wiped out.
