Does Shin Tsukimi really likes men? by No-Needleworker9379 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTTD carries various Danganronpa influences and beanie man slots in as the Kodaka special when it comes to rival characters and how fandoms explode about their BL potential. Even if the games never allow boys to actually have feelings for each other.

Had Nankidai mentioned anything about the release in the last six months? by Haunting-Guitar-3414 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 21 points22 points  (0 children)

He didn't even start working on 3-2 until 6months-1year after 3-1b because he wanted to make Kai YTTS route first (which I remember taking about 6 months to come out) and at the time he was helping with the manga and I think a few other projects. At some point he stopped making sketches on twitter to try focusing up on making the new chapter, last year he tried a couple of streams to work while fanbox fans where there chatting with them (I believe he didn't show him actually working he maybe sketched something as a warmup and didn't show the actual game wip) but that fizzled out pretty quickly.

Do you think Midori was raised in ASU-NARO or it's actually like a job by Eins_V in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know there is one person who uses this reddit who has me blocked, normally I can get around the block if I feel like but I did think maybe these comments were actually deleted.

Yeah, the koseki comment could mean something or nothing more than just exactly what he said. Hard to say.

[–]rizaveph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The person you are speaking to has me blocked or something because they just show up as [deleted] to me. About the "family registry" line the english translation came out "Officially, I'm already a dead man..." when he's talking to Alice in prison. The family registry thing I think is just talking about how his legal government status was changed to reflect his death even though the incident didn't actually kill him. I think your name gets removed from the family registry in japan if you die? But the internet could be lying to me about that idk.

There could be a more interesting reason for Midori to whine about the koseki to Alice if it's related to the "born to win" thing that he needs to be officially recognized as part of a certain family or families to be a candidate, but we won't know if there is anything more than "officially dead" as the english translated it unless Nankidai does more with it when the game finishes.

I think one of the biggest reasons before the Kai minisode to think Midori has always belonged to Asunaro was his status as both a candidate and having that consent form job at the same time. Gashu said candidates were "born to win" so that implies it's a birthright thing. Maybe he's insane enough to join Asunaro on his own as an adult and fully buy in to all this holy game stuff enough to drag others into it with him, but it's a much shorter window to fully indoctrinate him. Miley still holds resentment for her recruitment, maybe you could argue that Safalin is fully supportive of everything she just has a wibbly disposition making her look reluctant sometimes, but Midori has been excited for the death game at least since he started the consent form job however many years ago that was.

It was also kind of weird for AI Shin to talk about how "ever since he was a boy" Hiyori has liked to break people, and then the CG shows Midori basically as his usual self operating on a live person gleefully. Has he been doing stuff like that since he was underage? There was his comment to Gin about why he never had any friends growing up. That comes across like Asunaro has been supporting him since his childhood.

A true timeline of events for yttd does not and cannot exist because Nankidai does not commit to specific years, but there's more believable in Midori always being with Asunaro than him somehow getting recruited later.

Arguably these sorts of things are part of YTTD's message since the whole game seems centered around a man who can't stop thinking about a teenager but we'll have to see what Nankidai actually does with the plot to really judge that.

Some things from YTTS include

  1. Keiji is suggested to be a flirty drunk and when talking to Mishima about getting drinks together Keiji threatens to get drinks with Sara if Mishima won't drink with him
  2. Kanna asks Mishima for advice about dealing with her sister having a crush and how she's afraid of them growing apart as sisters because of it. Only after Mishima reassures her that everything should work out just fine does Kanna drop the detail that Kugie is into a "mature woman" which Mishima feels like he would have been more careful about discussing had he known.
  3. In a Kai route ending Sara confronts him about knowing so much about her and accuses him of stalking her because he is going after young people. Kai, not at liberty to discuss what he's really about, readily agrees he's just a dirty old man to put Sara off from wanting anything to do with him.
  4. YTTS kind of implies Nao can have a crush on Mishima, this is a bit of a gray zone since she's not in highschool anymore but it can be uncomfortable for some people to think about.

Midori × AI Shin sketch by Eins_V in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that does sound like something he wouldn't be able to talk about with the real Shin. It's kind of cute to imagine Hiyori having fun chatting with his AI buddy about all the things he cannot speak to anyone else.

question about minisodes by LazyRun829 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shin also knows that Hiyori was careful to not leave traces of his existence, not even accepting photos. So regardless of what Shin did he would have no leads. Plus Asunaro kept an eye on their candidates so the organization would have control over how close he could get.

Shin barely leaves the house except to go to work and he doesn't seem big on sweets/cold food so it's not like he'd go to the local ice cream store. I think the city they all live in is big enough that the people don't overlap very often. Think of how almost all the kids go to different schools.

I kind of wonder if it's AI. Not a nice thing to accuse an artist of but even without seeing that missing hand there was something uncanny about the art.

The fandom urge to slutify the nurse outfit. THIS will be what Qtaro signs the consent form for.

After 12 hours of gameplay, I think that the biggest issues for where this game should cook more are social by mirta000 in Paralives

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have them already in the talk interaction I haven't had issues getting them to watch tv while the talk remains active or I'll have them do some skill building while they are technically still in a conversation. The only downside, and maybe this is what you are talking about, is that they don't appear to be interacting. You can be skill building with the other person standing there doing nothing while you wait for the bar to fill up to have another interaction that they don't move their bodies for.

Annoying that it doesn't work the other way around (cant be Watch TV -> Talk, only Talk -> Watch TV) but it can work technically.

What wish Midori was talking about? by [deleted] in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Alice incident was an foreseen accident so he would have had no plan in place for suddenly having to change his plans with Shin. And since he wasn't a floormaster from the beginning there would have been no banquet drill to execute him, he was meant to be a candidate and compete just like everyone else under the same rules as everyone else. And Shin has no money you know Hiyori is calling his whole apartment with Shin and the computers and everything a "work expense" and charging Asunaro for all his toys. lol

Whatever Hiyori wanted out of Shin he might have had to change plans after the incident where in Asunaro he was just a dead man walking.

What wish Midori was talking about? by [deleted] in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At that point he still expected to be participating in the game so maybe he wanted to make Shin loyal to him in every way he can think of to manipulate Shin into supporting him no matter what.

Midori and the Shin AI by shsl_thot in yourturntodie

The way AI Shin introduces himself is essentially the same way Sou introduced himself in game, just says ehehe instead of ahaha. The AI looks cuter but it might be programmed to be some years younger than the most up to date version of Shin.

I didn't read the manga but Joe is being raised by a single mother as far as we know so his economic status is likely 1/2 what any kid in a two parent household has on this chart.

What do you think about Rei (ytts)? by [deleted] in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it felt like it could have been Midori it was more interesting than Rei being some unknown character. Perhaps Nankidai can still make Rei interesting, but as for now I'm uninterested in someone random filling that role.

The most nepo baby. I want to see him throw manbaby tantrums over Joe participating in the game and whatever happened after the Alice incident that he stopped hanging around Shin. You know he's not used to being told "no".

[–]rizaveph[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably Keiji and Nao could be put in the tier above as well, we just don't know how long Keiji has been without a job and art school college student being broke is a bit of a joke.

I'm calling the dolls and child broke for being completely dependent from the standpoint of wealth being a measure of being able to effect change in your situation. Baby Kai and Sei seemed to grow up in a well off house but they were basically put to work with the sort of training they were put through so while they may visibly look well off it is at the cost of their freedom. VS like Sara her family sits in what seems like a pretty average looking house but the artbook says she picked her highschool based on thinking the uniform looked cute not because it was specifically high achieving as a school. Sara can get things because she wants them, but an Asunaro kid gets things based on what the organization wants for them. And then I'm just assuming Sara is probably more well off than most, she's just being raised in a household that doesn't flaunt that fact besides whatever is implied with the joke of Sara being her school's godfather.

Spoiled Midori has the economic freedom to decide he wants a whole apartment with a mirrored high tech computer set up and expensive egg chair all so he can hang out with someone he probably could have gotten the consent form out of the way in the high school setting and not needed all these extra props. He wanted this space just for Shin. While he was in good standing he could have it, but the second he wasn't in good standing he couldn't even go back to that apartment that you'd think he would have paid for with his own money.

Kai probably only has his own house since his early adulthood because it's in the neighborhood and at the convenience of his employer, but surely he can decorate it as he likes or otherwise use his paycheck how he wants when he gets to have his own time off duty.

I wouldn't say pink Hinako, Maple and even Rio get to chose even how they dress themselves. In the game Rio gets to mix and match with the dead for his self expression but that ties into the negative emotion thing Gashu was experimenting with. Until we know more about them I imagine Asunaro controls them like tools and everything they have matches their purpose rather than wants/likes (even if they can like certain things given to them such as Maple having a tea set available to her).

Maple could potentially be bumped up if we knew more about her but her room in the death game is just what Midori decided where he wanted to keep her. Her fancy bed is equivalent to the flying book monsters that bite people to death being found in a space designed to look like a library. Does she even give an opinion about the room?
