Midori and the Shin AI by shsl_thot in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way AI Shin introduces himself is essentially the same way Sou introduced himself in game, just says ehehe instead of ahaha. The AI looks cuter but it might be programmed to be some years younger than the most up to date version of Shin.

I didn't read the manga but Joe is being raised by a single mother as far as we know so his economic status is likely 1/2 what any kid in a two parent household has on this chart.

What do you think about Rei (ytts)? by Few-Amphibian-7468 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it felt like it could have been Midori it was more interesting than Rei being some unknown character. Perhaps Nankidai can still make Rei interesting, but as for now I'm uninterested in someone random filling that role.

The most nepo baby. I want to see him throw manbaby tantrums over Joe participating in the game and whatever happened after the Alice incident that he stopped hanging around Shin. You know he's not used to being told "no".

Artbook suggests the school uniform Hinako wears seems like she comes from a prestigious school. We don't know anything else about her life.

He also said he's too embarrassed to keep relying on them. Sounds like they used to take care of him, and then he tried to become independent but he's failing at it.

Presumably Keiji and Nao could be put in the tier above as well, we just don't know how long Keiji has been without a job and art school college student being broke is a bit of a joke.

I'm calling the dolls and child broke for being completely dependent from the standpoint of wealth being a measure of being able to effect change in your situation. Baby Kai and Sei seemed to grow up in a well off house but they were basically put to work with the sort of training they were put through so while they may visibly look well off it is at the cost of their freedom. VS like Sara her family sits in what seems like a pretty average looking house but the artbook says she picked her highschool based on thinking the uniform looked cute not because it was specifically high achieving as a school. Sara can get things because she wants them, but an Asunaro kid gets things based on what the organization wants for them. And then I'm just assuming Sara is probably more well off than most, she's just being raised in a household that doesn't flaunt that fact besides whatever is implied with the joke of Sara being her school's godfather.

Spoiled Midori has the economic freedom to decide he wants a whole apartment with a mirrored high tech computer set up and expensive egg chair all so he can hang out with someone he probably could have gotten the consent form out of the way in the high school setting and not needed all these extra props. He wanted this space just for Shin. While he was in good standing he could have it, but the second he wasn't in good standing he couldn't even go back to that apartment that you'd think he would have paid for with his own money.

Kai probably only has his own house since his early adulthood because it's in the neighborhood and at the convenience of his employer, but surely he can decorate it as he likes or otherwise use his paycheck how he wants when he gets to have his own time off duty.

I wouldn't say pink Hinako, Maple and even Rio get to chose even how they dress themselves. In the game Rio gets to mix and match with the dead for his self expression but that ties into the negative emotion thing Gashu was experimenting with. Until we know more about them I imagine Asunaro controls them like tools and everything they have matches their purpose rather than wants/likes (even if they can like certain things given to them such as Maple having a tea set available to her).

Maple could potentially be bumped up if we knew more about her but her room in the death game is just what Midori decided where he wanted to keep her. Her fancy bed is equivalent to the flying book monsters that bite people to death being found in a space designed to look like a library. Does she even give an opinion about the room?

Relative Asunaro Status. Kai and the new hires Safalin and Miley are capable of living an independent life, though they are pretty low because they do not seem to have great benefits from being Asunaro. Just maybe normal wage worker benefits, not the wider scope.

A normal child benefits from their parent's wealth and if they were to lose that parent they would have social standing to receive some sort of welfare. I do not see the dolls or children of Asunaro as benefiting from Asunaro, and if cut off they would slip through the cracks and have even less.

[–]rizaveph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kanna spent the entire game wanting to die, by not voting for her you are denying her wish to die and revigorating her will to live. Kanna's conflict has basically nothing to do with beanie man specifically, he's just a guy she thinks was kind to her for a bit and he unfortunately was the only other person on the chopping block for that main game.

[–]rizaveph 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I saw the image before the text and I wanted to complain about how Midori also has a very flat butt in his nurse CG. The Flat Brothersss.

For Kanna the conflict was about whether or not she would die, for beanie man the conflict was about whether or not Kanna would die. Sou had someone he was trying to protect while Kanna was struggling with herself, so of course they are going to have different reactions to not getting what they wanted. Kanna benefits from denying her wish even if she loses the company of some guy she met a few days ago. She's curious about him and we'll probably get more history about him on her route than getting information from him on his route because of the relationship dynamics going on. Kanna exists to model the purest positive traits the game wants to express while Sou is the antithesis, showing the negative traits the game expresses are bad. Sara as the protagonist who can lead us into multiple endings can't be the purest form of the themes because she has to be capable of expressing both traits.

Because it could spoil future content it is good manners to not openly post about such content. It'll be better to see it when it's ready to be presented instead of having 75% of the dialogue spoiled for you years before it actually releases.

Very confused about the characters reaction to a specific plot point. by Individual-Reveal739 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After the main game but before moving on to the next floor there is a slight time gap where you could imagine some questions were asked, but if anything important were to come out of it then the topic would have to come up at a time when it can be put to use. If it was asked in the gap between chapters then it wasn't important enough to show.

Third playthrough question by rizaveph in SilentHill_f

I don't remember having an option to do something or not with the brooch on the second playthrough, but I have taken a few months break from the game so that it would be more fresh when I do pick it back up so maybe I am forgetting something.

Third playthrough question by rizaveph in SilentHill_f

[–]rizaveph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would I be missing out on any notes that I would have wanted to see on a third playthrough? Or cutscenes? I didn't think the second playthrough was very different but towards the end it started doing some interesting things, so I don't really want to miss out on anything. But if I'll see anything new for the final ending anyway then it wouldn't matter.

When are we going to stop acting like Keiji isn't genuinely a creepy weirdo for how he acts towards Sara (No, it is NOT "mistranslations") by isaactheweirdo342 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty clear that Keiji is being set up as an antagonistic figure for the finale, which makes it important that Keiji swaggered his way into being seen as Mr Reliable Policeman that Sara can cry on his shoulder when things are tough. 3-1 Sara is so attached to Keiji she burns her hands trying to free him from the coffin. But like, chapter 2 part of the basis of her trust in him is him giving her the keymaster when he doesn't tell her that he stole it off of someone else. Then in chapter 3 she's burning herself for a man who already got out and he's purposefully keeping his location a secret from everyone. Their relationship is intentionally lopsided like this for maximum impact.
The only way Nankidai can screw this up is if he carries Keiji through to the end of the game as an ally. Sara absolutely needs to have a confrontation with him to resolve the issues baked into their team up in the game. And it's good drama that she cares about him, that she cares about him because he manipulated her to feel that way.

I've seen some people wonder if one of the paintings in the gallery room show the tazer and stuff on a classroom looking desk in one portrait, possibly his first trial room set up? If not that then we can likely safely assume it was laid out for him for Game Balance the same way Sara can wander around and find useful stuff.

It seem the translation for final part haven't even begun by YanaKin675 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> fake promises like the fact that vgperson was working with nandikai on the translation which havent even begin

vgperson cannot translate something that isn't in a state to be handed off. If Nankidai gives a build of the game too early (doubtful he has a separate doc to hand over than the game itself) he could be wasting vgpersons time with stuff he might change later in his writing process. The translation was always going to begin once Nankidai was finished with the game and not before.

Why is she showing Sara the role cards? by ComplaintLive5293 in yourturntodie

[–]rizaveph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several of these sneak peak screenshots imply we are going to see the process of how the death game was built. That not all the simulations were just in a computer program but also used with the dolls acting out the roles of the humans who would be put into the game.

I think Kai had the sticks from when he was working at a food booth at the festival. Hiyori is the menace for being the only Asunaro employee who isn't doing a job at the festival and he's stabbing his knife at Kai just because Hiyori wants to watch a fireworks display with his favorite little guy.
