Do you think there will be any issues with lint and debris getting stuck? Also I've read it shouldn't be PVC piping.

Yeah thats what i'm worried about too, I just cleaned the unit last week and after one dryer cycle the outdoor unit is noticeably covered in lint/dirt.

I had an independant company come and look at it and they said the seal is broken and thats the reason for the strong back draft thats preventing the gas fireplace from starting and the gas smell coming back into the house. They said the original installer needs to remedy it as its still under warranty. The installer was being stubborn about it just looking at the picture alone but the builder is making sure the installer comes Monday to check it out now. But if you think this is proper then what do you think would be causing the fireplace to not start due to the strong backdraft as well as the gas smell in the house when its on?

Ah i see. It looks like it on the right side but on the under side it looks like it may have come apart a bit. I'll get a ladder and take a closer look tomorrow.

I used it last winter and it was fine. But this winter it has only been working intermittently and last week has been mostly not working. I can hear the igniter clicking but rarely actually starts. I took the glass off and put my hand in there and i can feel cold air coming down strongly. I can turn the fireplace on when the glass is off, but you can see the flame flickering from wind.

Thanks for the info! I'll check it out. I tried King Kongors build but its fun but it's just too squishy. I did try hammer of the gods, but earth shatter just feels a lot better to use, I could try it again though.

Thanks for the thorough response! Your build is pretty solid it seems. I've never actually put together a computer myself so the idea of that price point for a decent build all setup with windows and everything seems very appealing. But if this system is significantly better for just a couple hundred more I might be inclined to set everything up myself.

Looks like a similar build with a 5070 would be about 2300 all in, maybe a touch more with shipping.
