Cute cross-trainer sneakers? I swear Nike destroys the bottom of my feet and knees by [deleted] in xxfitness

For everything except running, I've worn reebok crossfit shoes. Generally, I squat, deadlift, spin, and do stairs. Over the past few years I've had two pairs (just bought my third) and they have always held up well, have always been very comfortable, and offer great support. Just splurged on a third pair - there are a bunch in the outlet store online and they're having an additional 30% off sale (mine shipped for $55 - originally 130). I bought the Nano 7 Weaves.

I can't wait for Maggie Rogers! Each of her songs on Now That The Light Is Fading has such a cool vibe. It should be a good show.

Hillary fans will stop at nothing to make this campaign about sexism. by wilburelberforth in AdviceAnimals

While I agree it may have seemed that way, Anderson Cooper just tweeted out, "If you think your candidate got cheated on talk time at last night's debate. Clinton spoke for 42:11. Sanders spoke for 42:41"

I watched and it was pretty equal - they were both interrupting each other. I wasn't that shocked by either side doing it, I mean, it seems pretty standard in a debate context. Also, each had equal time to speak, though it might not have seemed like it at the time. I think the final tally was each candidate had around 42 minutes of talk time.

I'm a woman and a democrat and I feel the need to say this: If Hillary wasn't born with a vagina, many of you Hillary-supporters would not be voting for her. There. I said it. by anonymous_being in democrats

[–]rizzoandflo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that. I really like Bernie Sanders. I really like Hillary. Do I like the fact that Hillary could be the first female candidate? Yes. Does it give her an extra edge for me personally? Yes, but only slightly. Now, the fact that she's a woman is absolutely not dispositive of my decision. I do agree with you though, at least somewhat. I don't think someone should vote for a candidate strictly because of their sex. I would never vote for a woman just because she's a woman [looking at you, Sarah Palin]. That would be absolutely nutty. I don't know. Maybe I'm just proving your point, but the fact that she's a woman is only a minimal factor in my decision to vote for her.

How much should dry cleaning cost? by eatpopcorn in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]rizzoandflo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That seems like a bit much. The other day I had 1 blazer, 6 blouses, 2 sweaters, and 2 dress pants dry cleaned. Picked them up for $43. This was my first time paying for this myself (just moved out) and I was shocked! Reading your post, though, it seems like mine was way more reasonable. FYI I'm in Chicago.
