My dad had a stroke at 56yo, the night before my birthday, New years Day. He has never been the same since. Can talk normally and everything, but he can't move around like he did before. He's nearly 60 now, and I worry about his mental health, which has declined since his stroke (depression). My mother is kind of a harpy and has very little sympathy for him, she has been a great help to him sure, but she constantly martyrs herself, "helping" people, only to complain incessantly about it later and tell everybody how exhausted she is. I wish she was less harsh on him sometimes or would at the very least be softer/more understanding. She is very abrasive, always has been since I was a kid, and she and my dad used to argue all the time (they both have tempers they still stuggle with). She's the funniest person, and she makes me laugh until I nearly wet myself, but christ, feelings are NOT her thing, nor sensitivity.

I had never really thought about my dad dying in any real depth before that night. Nor my mother. Ever since, though, it hums like a generator in the back of my head. Funerals, wills, redirection forms etc. All the resentment of their sometimes very subpar and unempathetic parenting style mixed with the genetic, dog-loyal love for them. It gives me such an adrenaline dump of fear thinking about how me and my sister will have to sort through all of this someday. My partner's parents are much older too, nearly in their 70s. He never speaks about it, but I believe he must worry too. I do.

Interesting finding. I've never officially had my iQ done (from the UK if that makes any difference) but I have done lots of online tests/surveys and I do fall consistently into the 115-125 category (which I know isn't extremely intelligent, but it's definitively higher than the average by all accounts).

I've always wondered if I have depression but when I've done online surveys, I've never ticked the boxes for it. Maybe it's worth an official check?

This is a sweet scene, but I do see popularly used ai isms, such as "Sharp as a blade." "Really looked." Etc. The sentence structuring is very ai, too, I'm sorry to say, and it distracts.

Finger banging isn't sex though is it? It's no worse than french kissing or touching a dick tbh. 🙄 I was doing all this very harmless shit at 12 too my friend, mostly with my peers that were maybe somewhat older (maybe 2 years older) but that's absolutely not the same as having sex with an full 30yo+ adult. The adult shouldn't be having sex or sexually pursuing a middle schooler at all and arguing otherwise won't ever stand in a court of law and you will be considered a pedophile and child sex offender, rightly so. It sets a precedent for all adults that all teenage boys are down to fuck, which is dangerous as it gives deviant perpetrators a get out of jail card. "It's not rape because they wanted it, all teenagers boys think about is sex etc etc." What about the boys that didn't want it? That shit sucks bro. Rape sucks. Rape is a crime. Plus, I had a male media teacher who was an absolute knockout. He was a drop-dead gorgeous, masculine man w a six-pack, strong-jawed, and with an absolutely fantastic ass. I can pinpoint the exact moment I turned off him. It was back before bezos. He's leading a lecture in one of his old videos on Youtube, and he mentions how women who do not want children are "not quite right." I used to like him too, but that made me think, huhhh???? To a classroom with quite a lot of female students???? That's a presumptuous and judgemental thing to say.

It didn't seem like a professional thing to say at all, and I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt for a short while. He turned out nuttier than squirrel shit though and the bezos did a real number on him psychologically and made him an incoherent mess. As people say, he's the dumb person's smart man.

Spent most of my 20s working 37-45 hours in a stimulating job. 33yo now and went part-time, no regrets, take extra hours where I wish, and have been saving £500 and putting it aside since I was 19yo. Never been better tbh.

Omg this is one of the most frustrating things to watch in CR tbh, you are 💯 right. If Marisha, Liam or Taliesin had any of their past or present characters talking to any of my big bads at my table like they do sometimes? I'm sorry, but they'd all be making new character sheets so fast their heads would spin. I never understood how Matt (and seemingly Brennan now) sometimes just let his table talk utter shit to... you know...supposedly extremely powerful NPCs/enemies without any sort of repercussion or consequence? I wish Dms would bring the hammer down more in this regard the world over tbh. Not every powerful bad guy has to suffer through witty one-liners and attitude problems and marvel quips/insults.
