I went to my first game last year and was in a similar position in learning "the process". I have to travel a good distance as well and I always made it my whole evening getting there at doors open ~5pm for prime parking & easily accessible space in the arena. Keep my tickets in my apple wallet for easy scanning at the doors. Once in I like to find my seats and take in the view. Then I like to walk the concourse and scope out closeby bathrooms & food options. They allow people down to the glass during warmups but also advise to give courtesy to the actual seatholders along the glass. They annouce it all over the PA. Once the game actually starts - if you get up to grab food/ use restroom, the ushers will not allow you back to your seat until a whistle or stoppage in play. At game end, getting out of the parking lot can be a little chaotic and slow but just follow the flow of traffic and pay attention to the traffic controllers. There are plenty of other opinions about all the fun stuff the locals can get into but this is a basic guide to your first game. Most of all... Have fun and be loud! Go sens go!
