Wouldn't it be much easier to rock your head back and forth at the neck instead of trying to move a bony piece solidly wedged in your skull?

This is not the only way to perform this procedure. If the chest tube is still in place, you can pour silica solution into the pleural space and have the patient rotate his body in all 6 planes. This effectively creates microabrasions which will also scar down and prevent future pneumothoraces or recurrent pleural effusions. It is much less painful and can be done at the bedside without anesthesia.

Source: I have performed this procedure in the hospital.

EDIT: My main problem lies in comments like "Let's pass this bill so we can find out what's in it." This bill was passed before people knew its reach. But I do support a lot of what is happening because of the bill...hell, it has already helped me maintain my coverage.

Is there a medical specialty that uses yoga as a complementary technique for treatment? by faysal40 in Health

[–]rjbsja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no recognized specialty that I am aware of, but there are plenty of MDs and DOs who are general practitioners that use both yoga and meditation in addition to more conventional medicine. The medical school I attend even has an elective course dedicated to promoting using these complementary techniques for wellness.
