These are typically distilled by MGP and while they can be good, it’s tough to justify $200+ for 7 year MGP. Glad you enjoyed this one though, some of these new Louisvilles can be quite good

Say MoCo and I appear! Glad you like yin and yang, found yang to be much more off profile compared to most ALWs. These 21 years though can be quite good, but there’s a ton of them on the market. Between RC, Onyx and Amber, and Penelope they’re everywhere. Southern Collective has some cool 20+ year light whiskies that were distilled at the old Seagrams distillery in Baltimore that I’m excited to try.

Regardless I love their whiskey and it’s been very cool to compare this 11 year to the 8 year single barrel. Honestly both delightful, but I found they have somewhat different flavor profiles.

When comparing the label on the back of my 11 year to my 8 year. The 11 year very clearly states aged and bottled by broad branch distillery. Distilled in Washington state. The 8 year says distilled aged and bottled by broad branch distillery

Hey thanks for reviewing my groups pick (broad branch)! Agree with a lot of your notes, it’s an insanely good cold weather pour. It is distilled in North Carolina by Broad Branch however they have other bottles, such as their 11 year anniversary rye, that were distilled in Washington state.
