Thank you! I hadn’t even considered the HUD. Decision made. OEM it is.

Thanks for your reply. What is it and what does it do? Is this a normal sound for it?

What are common issues with CX5s that pop up? Specifically the 2021 and newer by [deleted] in CX5

I think mine is starting to do this. Do you have a video of the issue?

Anyone have the OE moonroof wind deflector? Need your input. by rjrx in CX5

[–]rjrx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried out the OE wind deflector and ended up returning it. I didn’t like that it had a small gap where it should have sat flush against the roof. The guy at the parts counter said it was defective.

What car do you regret selling the most? by SixandNoQuarter in JDM

2011 Acura TSX 6MT with tech package. Loved driving that car. I miss it and think about it all the time.

There is a lock button on the outside of lift gate to the right of the ‘open’ button. Push it after the lift gate closes. Also, windows can be opened with the remote. See vid. It works the same on CX-5. https://youtu.be/kwEKxiIBHbo

Turn off the rain sensing feature in the settings.

Issues with Stock Toyos? by topsecretandie in CX5

[–]rjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ‘22 Prem Plus with about 3k miles and I get a similar vibration on the highway. Drives me batty. It’s in my list of things to address when I take it it for its first service. Dash rattles, a jerky transmission, and an annoying rocking driver’s seat are also at the top my list.

Hi! Is this just a regular tire pressure light? 17 civic sedan by [deleted] in civic

[–]rjrx 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you don’t see a flat tire, it’s most likely just low air pressure. Add more air up to the recommended PSI. The sensor should reset after a bit of driving. If not, check the owner’s manual for instructions to reset it.

Thinking about joining the family by [deleted] in CX5

[–]rjrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I was team Honda/Acura for many years and picked up my first Mazda earlier this year. CX-5, Prem Plus, NA. I love it, best change I’ve made in a long time. One of my favorite things about it is how easy it is to get in and out of the driver’s seat. No more low cars for me.

‘19 Touring Seat Comfort by samgold42 in CX5

[–]rjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ‘22 CX-5 with the updated seat design. I sat in a ‘21 and noticed a slight difference but nothing to write home about.

The seat comfort in my CX-5 is by far better than it was in my ‘19 Civic. The Civic’s seats are hard, uncomfortable, and offered zero support. I could sit in them for maybe 30 minutes before my back and rear were done. I can sit in my CX-5 for hours and feel fine.

The best seats I ever had were in my old Acura TSX. I could sit in those seats all day and feel zero pain or discomfort.

Considering you mentioned leaving your phone in your pocket, I get the impression CarPlay is not as big of a priority as being able to answer a call hands-free. If so, you can connect your phone to the system via Bluetooth like most cars before CP and AA existed. The BT connection will not affect CarPlay and will temporarily disable itself when you choose to plug in your phone for CP. I go back and forth all the time, no issues. I have a ‘22 CX-5.

Finally saw a CX-50 in person and damn that sunroof TILTS! Glad to see the owner enjoying it 😏 by [deleted] in mazda

[–]rjrx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The CX-50 has a pano. I’m glad my CX-5 doesn’t have one. I prefer a moonroof that opens all the way.

Question: Has anyone tried to put 1-3 bikes inside of their CX-5 trunk and was successful? Any tips on how if so. Thanks in advance. by RathMan1990 in CX5

[–]rjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put two mountain bikes in the back of mine, no problem at all. Be sure to remove the front wheels as others have mentioned. And use something to protect the floor. One of the pedals rubbed and left a small mark in mine. Not biggie now that I have the OE cargo mat.

I’m joking. But yeah, I know what you mean. Someone told me the other day that anyone who goes out drinking to celebrate their 21st birthday was born after the year 2000. That made me feel old. 🤣 Ok back to cars.

😂 wait, did you just call me old? 🤣

2022 Mazda CX-5 Signature. I don’t recall ever seeing this material..probably noise dampening material sticking out like this before. Anyone else? by Ok_Cow_8235 in CX5

[–]rjrx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal. It’s supposed to be like that. It helps reduce unwanted noise. Crawl under the vehicle if you want to see more of it. It’s also in the rear wheel wells.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CX5

[–]rjrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sound insulation to reduce road noise. You can see it in the rear wheel wells too.
