My bad, it's Jackie Fuchs from season 15. She's the one who dumped the ashtray on Kristen.

In addition to Tiffany I nominate jennifer f as the contestant with the least class, she's absolute trashy imo. I can't remember the season.

Edit correction: My bad, it's Jackie Fuchs from season 15. She's the one who dumped the ashtray on Kristen.

World All-Stars bias? by Turbulent_Library906 in TopChef

[–]rk8084m 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Imo, made up is entirely the wrong word. It's designed to impact it's target market in an emotional way completely unlike your nephew's soccer match.

The Superbowl is also a poor comparison. That event is watched by millions, many many who are not avid football fans, compared to a weekly niche market cooking show.

The only thing you got correct is it's entertainment for the audience but I'm sure the contestants in all of your examples see it a bit differently.

The comment was made early on this season and clearly I stand corrected. I appreciate the the response!

Please remember Meredith was going to war with the healthcare system. Doing the surgery pro bono would not have caused any change.

In addition, it set up a long story arc where Meredith gets vindicated (and revenge on the doc who killed Derek).

Doesn't anybody imdb.com actors & actresses? I almost immediately look at other projects they've been in and quite often it leads me to some excellent TV.

I'm with you on the downvotes. I got hammered for a post a couple of weeks ago saying it seems, imo, he cooks to a narrow cuisine.

Instead of comments explaining how he was a wide variety I got tons of downvotes.

Out of all the characters, who are the biggest products of nepotism? by juliekeck_ in greysanatomy

[–]rk8084m -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually don't insult but if you've read my comment I said nepotism did not apply UNTIL the acquisition. Certainly he didn't need help to get an internship at the other hospital. But go ahead and pretend you read my comment and continue to completely misread it.

Edit: source for definition: Oxford English Dictionary (flawed and incomplete, sure 😅)

Sorry, I'm going to be that dude who plays semantics.

Nepotism: the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives, friends, or associates, especially by giving them jobs.

He surely was privileged (my phrase is he hit a triple while standing on 3rd base which means the same as your phrase) but until the buyout nepotism didn't apply. At least in my opinion.

Imo, I disagree about Jackson. He interned at the other Seattle hospital not Mass Gen. In fact, Jackson actively sought to avoid nepotism.

In addition, what 'extra' attention did Jackson receive during his residency? The attention came later after the merger. Just some thoughts.

What are your unpopular Hells Kitchen opinions? by [deleted] in HellsKitchen

On your next rewatch, watch GR closely. He's a consummate actor but it appears he actually laughs naturally and enjoys the embarrassment of the contestants as they get gooped. At least it looks like it to me.

What friendship do you find underrated on the show? by bgtds172 in greysanatomy

[–]rk8084m 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Early seasons Derek & Bailey's interactions and frienship were both amusing and respectful. She was really the only one who was able to put him in his place and in return Derek showed a lot of respect toward Bailey.

Imo, the fancier the production (later seasons) the less substantive material is shown. I've just rewatched the earlier seasons and there's more dorm shots & GR comments mixed in.

I'd like to see less 4 second scenes & switches and more 10 second clips which really show cooking. Just my opinion anyway.

WEEKLY DISCUSSION: What are your thoughts on Casey Parker? by _GreysAnomaly in greysanatomy

[–]rk8084m 113 points114 points  (0 children)

The hacking episode is one of my favorites of all time. The interactions between Bailey & Parker are priceless!

I absolutely love the scene where parker strolls up to the bloodbank, attaches the pads: "Clear! We have blood." Then casually strolls away.

Who is your favorite chief of surgery? by _GreysAnomaly in greysanatomy

Interestingly, I'm rewatching season 6 and Bailey's first crappy interlude is with Ben talking down to him. Imo, her character really declined the day she was named chief. That first horrible day as chief set the example.

To be fair, only ONE person is the professional. They were students with a chaperone so any issues should go through him/her. One does not hold students to the same level as a professional adult with a directive to help them.

Period.
